Don't you think that some R1 wheels are more appropriate?

You know, keeping with the knock-off-cheap-Chinese-copy theme of the car?

    Tony,

Perhaps on your ride but this Z has name brand parts throughout regardless of manufactured region and the parts have proven effective at the end result. Start a thread with your Z and list your power/ mods and let others discern instead of trying yet again to put your 2 cents in on an AMS thread ;)

The wheels are brand name parts, they are branded R1-Racing.

Why wouldn't you put R1-Racing wheels on a AMS car?

This car is better than most on this site, i don't know what you tools are going on about. Until you have an AMS part fail on your own cars i think you should reserve judgement. Its the same as when wankers say all Z32's overheat and are unreliable.

absolutely agree 100%. maybe its not the parts at all, maybe its the unreliable nature of these cars.... everyone knows they are just big money pits........

6 months ago, I bought into all the AMS Hating and never thought I'd buy anything through them.

After seeing this amount of hate and slander in the last few weeks, Im willing to give them a try.

I just have two questions. Vuk, you have my respect for the way in which you have responded to all the comments in these threads, never getting angry or retaliating agressively. However, you do seem to give long, inderect answers to some legitimate questions that should be directly adressed. So i want to put it to you simply.

Did Z32 Innovations/AMS copy their engine mount design from the Brett Dempsey Engineering (BDE) engine mounts? If not, how do you explain the similarities between the two products?

Im not wanting to start trouble, and you dont have to reply if you dont feel the need. I just think this question needs a direct YES or NO, skirting around the issue doesn't fill me with confidence in your product.

    Thanks, Jordan.

Why are there so many AMS advertisments on this forum lately? Nothing against AMS but this is too much.

You could call it an advertisement or a very well built bit of Z32 porn! It's a beast, looks tastefully modified, and is an inspiration. Hell, even the petty haters would be sporting shameful pride to call it their own. I agree there's a little flood going on and it would have been more humble to just post this single thread up as a showcase but I particularly like this Z.

AMS is here to advertise on the most profile OZ 300 zx forum section full stop. They should put there new products on the for sale section & be done with that instead of posting something that comes out of some magazine which is 3-4 years old. Yeah great all the pics but put your products on the for sale section.

    Thanks for the honest feedback.

The Z32 Innovations engine mounts is a product we distribute as are the RS Performance line, Z1 etc.

I have personally installed the BDE and Z32 mounts and have found them to be near identical. Our black Z pictured has the Z32 Innovations mounts with zero issues.

So to answer you question they are almost identical and my opinion is that they are based on the BDE design most definitely. This is true for 'alot' of products from various Z vendors be it suspension, body, engine etc.

We do not distribute the BDE product line so adding this to our line was a natural choice due to price, availability and demand currently despite the drama by some.

If you need anything in the future our contact details are readily listed and we will try our best to answer any inquiries.

    Regards,

This post was about a recent GT800R build? The other post was an older magazine feature but as stated in the original thread it was 'recently' posted on PAS magazine's Facebook page. Nothing malicious intended other than to showcase a build and some accolades within a published magazine by peers? There was never an intention to muster up the drama that the newer members from another forum and their friends have brought within.

We do have our vendor hosting a GB and will be adding more shortly.

As suggested start a thread with your high HP Z and the mods list and let others reply ;) This thread showcases the build and the results posted and hating on a Z that has more power and mods than most and tastefully done (as stated by a few) is trivial to say the least? Your point of not liking the build or anything AMS themed is well noted ( Tony, you are the protagonist of an AMS hate page correct?)so please stop trolling anything AMS related.

This thread is for the members to input constructive feedback without any childish undertones.

Sure, I'll start a new thread. It would be easier though for me to just do a copy and paste of your thread though, wouldn't you agree? Maybe change the font and laser etch BigTDogg somewhere on it?

I'm not trolling, I was making a serious suggestion. Everything on that car, aside from the Z1 ICs, is copied from some other original part, so I was suggesting that you save some money (that's the whole basis of your company right? Saving money?) and sell the Volks and get the R1 wheels. Same look, less cost, the AMS motto, so how is that trolling?

And I am not the protagonist of an AMS hate page. I started a group on Facebook for Z Enthusiasts Against AMS (Canada). There are nearly 300 members, and we collected over 575 signatures to petition ZCCA to not allow AMS sponsor ZCON 2012. There are HUNDREDS more people who aren't on FB who are anti-AMS and anti-knock-off. The purpose of the group is to educate Z owners about the perils of AMS parts. You call it hate, I call it doing what's best for the community, something you clearly know nothing about.

I'll post up a build/intro thread in a bit. I look forward to your comments.

As for constructive feedback, try posting the X axis in RPM, as speed is useless.

It's only drama when you don't tell the whole truth. You DID distribute the BDE mounts (along with other BDE parts), right up until Brett asked you to remove all photos and send all unsold mounts back to him for a full refund. You did sell them, but you don't any more. Because Z32 Innovations had them long enough to copy, so not selling the BDE mounts any more doesn't matter to your bottom line.

Tell the truth and there won't be any drama. BDE never had any issues keeping up with demand for his product, and the cost is PLENTY reasonable for the quality of work.

Just in case you missed it:

The comparison of the original and the knock-off

I don't believe we ever sold one BDE product even though it was listed for a short time online. Never inventoried any BDE products as well as we have never had a demand for them. It was mearly listed as we distribute Z1 listed products.

Regardless of the comparison the Z32 innovations product is working great on a high hp street and strip Z along with plenty of others regardless of perceived deficiencies in the function of said product.

I look forward to your high HP build thread ;) I am doubtful your Z can be re-labled but let's try.

What we do as a company is innovate competition in a Z32 market-base that previously has seen a monopoly structure within. Certain vendors and their group (forum) recommend only certain vendors and attach a stigma to others. Any mention of another vendor that is not endorsed is erased or ridiculed by a few members like yourself. This keeps prices high and by virtue tries to limit competition and steer owners a certain path. What companies like AMS, Z1 and others have demonstrated is that there is clearly room for competition and the beneficiaries are the clients. They now have choice and the vendors are 'forced' to be more competitive in every aspect of the marketplace. If we were not around manifolds would still be in the $1200 range for instance ;)

We now offer innovative and industry first products for the Z32 like injection molded 'clear' timing covers. Plenty more to follow for the Z32 and other divisions. Why haven't your few vendors done this before? Cost is a major hurdle and reluctance to spend tens of thousands of their dollars towards one product demanded for years is the answer. We pushed forward regardless and answered those calls - thanks.

Ten of thousands of members in the community actually and most (especially our clients) choose not to partake in internet drama. They have better things to do seemingly.

Your role it seems is to position yourself as the ritious savior of the mighty Z and steer members towards only those limited vendors that your group approves of. Luckily from where we stand the general population is educated enough to constructively analyze both arguments and realize that as a legal company that has been operating since 1992 (longer than most of your preferred vendors) we are here to stay and have catered to the needs of the majority of Z owners.

We are certainly not in the position to 'preach' what we consider the worthy vendor or parts for a Z should be, and, if that is not the case judge said parties ;) This seems the role you have chosen.

The Z itself is a 20 yr old classic now and the market has shifted to an 'affordable' car. The market hence dictates that these new owners are looking for bang-for-the-buck mods. Simply adding up the AMS components on the build and comparing the prices with the competitors will yield considerable savings while offering almost identical end results in performance ;) This is precisely why people buy a Z32 versus pricier counterparts - great bang for the buck!

It does not take long to realize that AMS INC. fits this criteria more readily than most vendors while offering one of the longest standing presence in the scene, warranties and industry accolades by peers. Individuals such as yourself portray an elitest undertone that owners need to look to your acknowledgements for guidance and approval. You look down upon those that choose with their hard earned money. It seems as though you have a problem with the once expensive and not readily attainable Z being affordable. Reality is that is is now readily affordeable for most and so are the parts thanks to companies such as AMS INC.

We have sponsored more shows than most companies and as such any savings from not attending the shows will certainly be funnelled into new product developments. Lots of new products released this year alone and plenty slated for the New Year. Yearly we spend 10's of thousands for donations/contributions and attendance of Z/Nissan Specific shows world-wide. Not a claim many others can make.

Now getting back to the thread dealing with the GT800R project car ;) One of my two Z's btw and I have owned plenty since 1992 and have never portrayed myself in an elitist light such as yourself or small group of self-proclaimed industry saviours. The clients can choose with their wallets, hearts, guidance or gut instinct end of the day. I don't think many require enlightenment every step of the way though.

    Regards,

    Vuk@AMS
