Ambient temp sensor affects AC?

Hey sexies, does the ambient air temp sensor under the front bar affect the operation of the AC?

My climate control reading has been -83 or there abouts since my panel beater re-fitted my bar, im guessing he didn't put it back where it should be and its wedged somewhere and screwing up the reading. Tonight was warm, decided to try out the AC and all I got was warm air...

    Any knowledge?

    Danke,

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

My understanding is the ambient temp sensor that displays in your left hand pod has nothing to do with the control of the a/c. As it has it's own internal temp sensors in the cabin to gauge control over the hot/cold settings in the climate control.
So my take is there is another issue with your climate control unit that's only allowing hot air. possibly a stuck duct door or something like that...?

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Apparently it does actually Benny. I didn't think so either. Check out this thread from not long ago.

    The answer is YES.....

There are 7 sensors used for control of the Automatic AC system (jspec), the ambient air sensor is one of them.

The reading you are getting means your sensor is either disconnected or dead. If it's been at the panel beaters, chances are that they've failed to reconnect it.
