    Hey guys

I have just picked up my illuminated 2000 spec centre panel :D, some of you would know about the GB which was done last year on these and for those of you who ordered, well i know that i've been hanging out for these to get here!

For those of you who don't know what they look like, here is a pic of ZisLuv's car with the illuminated panel on it

A big thank you to Nathan who organised the GB, now i just got to find out how to install this, im guessing i need a soldering iron

For those of you who also ordered, has anyone firstly received them and secondly tried to install them?

    Cheers

    Mike

Yeah I got mine 3 weeks ago(dark blue) haven't had a chance to put them in yet. The guy who put them together in U.S sent me an email with great instructions.
    Here's a copy-
Thanks for purchasing a Great Gonzer 300ZX glow Panel. All of your panels have been completed and shipped via AIR MAIL and you should be receiving them within the next few weeks. I appreciate your patience. These panels are not easy to create nor are they easy to make correctly. They take a lot of time, patience and careful hand fabrication. I know that you will enjoy them on your Z.

How to Install the panel so that it illuminates when you turn on your parking lights:

1: You will need to remove the rear center, plastic interior panel in the trunk of the Z. It is the one with the two twist thumbscrews.

    2. Locate the black rubber plug that feeds the wires down to the license plate lights. These are the wires that I recommend splicing into in order to light up the panel. This way the panel will illuminate when you turn on the headlights to the vehicle. ( I don't recommend splicing into the taillights because that will create a delta in power load which in turn will cause a warning light on the dashboard to illuminate.) Tapping into the license plate light power will not cause that warning light to illuminate on the dash board.

    3. I simply spiced into the wires right below the white plastic connector that is attached to the Z body. Please see picture for area. Splice (solder preferably) red wire to red wire and black wire to black wire. I highly recommend soldering the wires together. A loose connection will create electrical arching and will short out your inverter sooner or later causing it to fail.

    4. Ensure the spliced bare wire connection is covered with electrical tape, electrical shrink-wrap, or liquid electrical rubber tape so that you don't short out the inverter.

Once again thanks again and enjoy your Great Gonzer 300ZX rear electro-luminescent glow panel

    Darrell Gonzales

PS it is very important that you use a sealant of some sort around the panel where it touches the car and any joint around the panel. If you don't seal around the panel, water may seep into your luggage compartment possibly shorting out your electrical connections. I recommend some kind of black/clear silicone calking from home remodeling store.

    Done and dusted.

Got mine and installed it a few weeks back. It's fairly simple to put on. All you need to do is undo the old one, simply undo a few screws (I think 3 eack side) and unclip a couple of wires and just pulls straight off. Put fresh panel in place of old.

Then find the wires leading to your number plate lights and solder the wires from the inverter onto them (black-->black and red-->red) and should work. Well mine did.

Then all you got to do is tighten the screws for the panel and reconnect the wires for the reverse lights.

    Hey presto!

    Well from memory...

It was about $400 for everything, including shipping from the US, it included a new 2000 spec centre panel which the guy in the US needed to have, and this parts and labour, pretty good i thought :)
