for those that aren't too suspension savvy, tie rods control the toe (how much your wheels point in or out) settings on your suspension. on the front, they poke out from the steering rack. on the rear, they're on the HICAS. as far as suspension goes, there is nothing that can kill tyres faster than bad toe! all the tie rods have ball joints in them, two per corner. the inner ones (closest to the car as opposed to on the hubs) are the ones that wear out. I'm not 100% why but I have some suspicions.

I just replaced my rear tie rods because I found play in one of the ball joints. when I removed the pair, I found play in both of them - way more than I expected too! tyre KILLER. so I want to do the front ones now, as near 25 year old ball joints can't have much left in them.

If you're familiar with SPL bump steer reducing tie rod ends, these are after market ball joints for the front which adjust bump steer. I have a pair ready to go on and fitting these will replace the front outer ball joints. if you want to replace your front outer tie rod ball joints, I'd recommend spending a little more and getting a considerable upgrade while you do.

    anyway lesson over!

OEM front inner tie rod ends are dear - $142 a piece!

    so I'm looking at these:

Has anyone used these before? substantial saving makes them worth considering for sure.

    Recommendations?
