The only way to have aftermarket seats legalised is with an engineer's certificate.

    And harnesess?

Never legal to use them on the roads, no matter what. You can have them connected but whenever you're driving you need to be wearing the OEM seat belt.

Dude it just came to me while watch the tein coilovers commercial... you are allowed to have harnesess in you car as long as you use the normal seat belt while commuting.

so i can install seats and harnesess but not use the harnesess while i commute around just the normal seat belts.

Which means when i go to the track... normal seat belt off harnesess on :)

Or if you want to be special, you can use both the harness and stock belts :p

In QLD you need a mod plate for non factory option seats (though I got a mod plate for my factory Recaros just to be on the safe side).

You can have harnesses in conjunction with normal inertial reel seatbelts. You have to have the harness mounting points mod plated, not the actual harnesses. Nothing to say you can't use your harnesses on the streets, but you must also wear your inertial reel belts too.

Sweet now all i need to do is find where sells ADR approved seats and where i can get a half cage or just a harness bar.

FIA approved seats are equivelant. The FIA standards are more stringent than the ADR's.

Those crappy Supercheap seats are ADR apprvoved, but I would much prefer a set of Velos or Sparcos or Recaros.

Have a speak to a mod plate guy before buying anything to be sure though. A company called 'Mustang Sally Conversions' did my mod plates for me.
