    Hi all

My idle has dropped down to approx 500rpm causing the Zed to (sometimes) stall when I come to a stop or at the best I catch it with a little jab on the accelerator.

    Fixes when Zed warmed up:
I've taken the Pod filter off (UNIfilter Foam) and it was filthy but came up superb with a Turps wash and reoil but still low idle at 500rpm approx

I've checked TPS and is constant at .44 at idle but still idles at 500rp approx

I've cleaned the MAF (when foam filter was off ) still idles at 500rpm approx

I do not think I've got vacuum leaks because Zed holds 15psi well and I believe vac leaks increase RPM?

Plenum pull done with new injectors and coilpack connectors. I do have a code 34 "knock" which I need to investigate.

Last fix item was the idle adjustment screw. I disconnected the AAC connector from the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) however, the Zed would stall not allowing me to adjust idle. Hence, I had to adjust idle with the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) connected.
The Idle screw was wound all the way in but quite a lot of anti-clockwise turns Zed now Idles between 700-712-750 (On datascan)

I think I've corrected the errant idle but I'm not sure??
Although, idle seems correct is there anything else I could investigate just to be sure.

    Cheers, Pete

The IAA unit has failed find your IACV and follow the pipe out of it that runs toward the centre of the engine near the firewall. you are looking for another unit that has a pipe that runs into it then when you have dislocated your hands fingers and elbows you can unbolt this thing (yes it can be done with the engine in) and service it.
This valve controls cold starts and does the same job (albeit differently) as the choke on an old carby.
