    Hey guys
Long story short found my boost leak.
Passenger side accordion pipe is completely split in half.

Do you recommend silicone or shiney alloy pipes ?

I'm thinking alloy pipes would heat up to much and the turbos would be sucking in hot air or is that not correct ?

    Thanks in advance

Go the hard pipes if you can afford it. They look good too :D

Hot air before the turbos wont matter, its going into the intercooler directly after that anyway. I can't see much of a heat difference between alu and plastic in our engine bays seriously. If you werer that worried about it you would be gold wrapping you pipes.

The theory on alloy pipes absorbing heat is sound but the surface area for heat transfer is pretty small and the volume of air flow when you need cool air is enourmous so unlikely you'll measure a difference.

I would probably be looking for another accordion pipe if one of mine split but nothing wrong with getting something that looks a little nicer.

P.s. in Zs and in general there a intances of silicone pipes collapsing under vacuum, especially when hot. If you go silicone buying a genuine brand name kit that will have support after the sale might be a better choice.
