With the engine out for a rebuild I thought I would reshape the the water routing on the LH turbo.

Having previously done the plenum pull and deleted the under plenum piping, the EGR, and most of the steel piping at the rear of engine, there is room to run hoses close to the block. I have also deleted the lightweight hat bracket that carries the earth cable (normally away from the EGR pipe) and the cable will bolt direct to the block.

Pic below shows typical hose run from plenum pull. You can see the stock steel pipe bent to the front of the engine and the hose having to loop back and around.

Next pic shows rebent water pipe now heading back around the head

You don't want to try this with the engine in the car as it is very easy to kink the pipe.

alternatively , you can cut the pipe right where the right angle is (first pic shows clearly), then put a new hose on and clamp it.....

remember though that you no longer have a retaining lug on the end of the pipe, so double clamping to maintain a good seal is now essential.......i double clamped mine, and cable tied it for good measure lol.....

Did this to mine. I also replaced one of the TT heater pipes (LH?) with an NA one. The NA pipe has outlets better positioned for the hose routing for the turbos.
