How much weight can you strip out of a Z if you want to, I mean like remove all the dash etc, full race only car?

cause I was just thinkin bout simple stuff like the electric seats etc, and it looked like you could remove a fair bit of stuff.

If you do a ''search'' under posts by UNIQUE ZED......

you will find how much weight John Penlington stripped out of a 2+2 before they banned him from Jenny Craig classes

    Stuff all really.

Im in the process of stripping my car. ive stripped ALL plastic panels fromt the boot/hatch rear quarter panels, doors, a pillars EVERYTHING and the most it all weighs would be about 5kg. Door cards are maybe 2-3 kg each, glove box and center panel, facsia about 2-3 kg all up. The seats are very heavy. taking them out and replacing with race seats are the go for sure.
Im considering the fibleglass ute mould for some serious racing as the rear hatch would be 50kg ATLEAST

also light weigh rims are the go. my 20" chrome wheels weigh the same as 2 stock rims.

All in all its not worth the hours and hours of stripping and putting everything back together IMO.
Taking the seats out are 4 bolts each.

    Matt.

    removing hicas and air con

the air con components and associated brackets are pretty heavy. along with hicas, you're probably looking at around 20kg(?). plus the saving you get from replacing the stock seats with lightweights.
