i've just completed reading a book called "Speed Secrets - Professional Race Driving Techniques" and i must say it is worth a read. The Author is Ross Bentley (an ex indy car driver and diver of many classes). Tought me a lot about track racing such as cornering techniques (how to take certain corners e.g hair-pin, varying 90'ers), how to adjust the handeling of your car and what changing for example castor does to the performance of the car, he also goes on about tyres and what you should look out for when your on track, overtaking techniques and much more. In the end you end up with 34 "Speed secrets" which he believes will improve your driving skills on track. The Pit stop book shop in perth had a whole batch of this book sell out in 2 days (my bro picked up the last copy). its only 160 pages and i picked it up for $29.95 and i tell ya its the best 30 bucks i've spent in a long time.Cheers,Red Z.
Why stop there? Carroll Smith has a great series of books as well Engineer to win Tune to win Prepare to win Then there is Fred Phun's book, 'How to make your car Handle'. The list can go on, these are but a few from the 'library'
Have you got the other 2? >>> "Speed Secrets" is (I think) the first in the series, followed by "Inner Speed Secrets" and "Speed Secrets 2". I'm looking forward to the review on the full set! All 3 books are listed in this months Pitstop newsletter.
Don't race, just drive tune days & motorkhan as. most of the book is applicable to ppl who use their zed for track days etc.Cheers,Red Z.
