agreed With the recent criminal activities nvolving our vehicles i think that the MODS should lock this site down that extra bit more.... It will never stop them as all they have to do is join.. Its not like we can force them.. But it can open them up to other forms of tracing which i will not release on here.. Lets just say these guys can ben tracked of a site just as easy as they track us..
hate that.. clicking on a link only to find you have to fart about creating an account, I don't bother with any sites like that anymore.. just be careful about what you post.
What MikeH Said Guys you must remember that the majority of the "guests" are not criminals. In fact I highly doubt that any are looking at the forum with the intent to source and steal our cars. The only reason that I am a member here is that I was able to check out the forum as a guest, found it to be a great site, especially when compared to other sites, and once i bought my Z I joined up and became a member. When sites want me to join up and become a member etc before veiwing a thread, I click that little button that closes the page. And I dont ever go back. If we made this site members only, we would lose out on many potential new members, and the general public would lose out on a valuable resource (tech section).
Just a thought Maybe if we just make some of the areas locked and accessable by members only, and the rest viewable to all?

Generally happens when a thread here is cross posted to another forum. Its no big deal and I think paranoia is setting in after recent events. Ive got a list of all the referrals and theres a whole heap of other Zed forums pointing to here. Generally the guests are Members that CBF signing in unless they want to post, or people browsing after a google search. We are ranked 2nd in Aus google and not bad in the US google (room for improvement)

lol you guys realise there is nuthing to stop a criminal joining the forum right... and no way to trace any criminal activity to a silent member who reads threads... iono about all you guys but this time last year we only had like half if that maybe even quarter of the member we have now, no where near as many zed-heads/potential zed heads... so how many of yous came here after FnF lol... nah but i think its great, more demand for this sexy car, more $$, and since if cant be bought in under the 15yo rule any more blang blang for the zed owners. asfor large amouts of guests, no clue ey... possibly members posting/giving links of this site to random people heh... i reccon black baz logs out just to get the numbers going higher, hes a ticky one he is.
I wonder if I fit into one of those categories? I came here before buying my Z under the belief that I would find the most pertinent info. That being the closer relationship/similarity of the J-Spec and AU Spec Z. Others on the US' 300zxClub site don't quite have the appreciation or understanding of the J-Spec or RHD Z. I as yet, have to try and google a UK site that I could be comfortable with. There are so many similarities between Australia and Canada - economics, currency value, population base, geographic size, etc, that I find it very easy to associate here. Perhaps there's a large amount of canucks lurking since they haven't closed down our 15 year import window as of yet, but that's just a guess. I do refer people to related info between the 2 sites that I use. Should I refrain from doing that in the future?
No, keep it up. Too much paranoia, and as mentioned above, if I get referred by a link to a site that forces me to join up I simply don't bother.
The question is. If you were an enthusiast of any sort would you join the site? I know that i would MAKE THE EFFORT to join a site that i am interested in... Whats the difference if the site is blocked to guests? If you are not interested in joining then you are in no way interested in the contents... There is nothing wrong with being paranoid. Most of you have alarms to deter theives correct? The deterent may also be that the site is locked in particular areas so that possible perpetrators have a real hard time of finding their next prey I still feel that a review of some sort should be done... I know heaps of FORUMS that lock down the site so guest can only ever get a tasts of whats really inside.
Doesn't mean anything. I usually only log in if I'm going to reply to a thread. Most of the time I don't bother.
