I saw this ad and thought id share it anyone know the car? http://ninemsn.carpoint.com.au/all-...rchAction=N&seot=1&__Nne=15&trecs=1&silo=1011
This is a VRY fast car. It has a so many go fast bits on it probably cost in excess of 50K to build. Its probably worth about 25-30K. Would be a good track or targa car.
have a search, there are many threads about vinces $50k zed. The basics though are that he had it advertised for less but it wasnt a motivated sale, he then had a load of people low balling him & generally wasting his time so he put the price up. The theory being while he isnt super keen to get rid of it he's happy to let it go for circa $50k & by having the higher price he isnt inundated by people offering celicas with 20's & $5k on top (for example). I had the chance to have a look at it a few times while my car was being serviced at zedshop & while its pretty sedate aesthetically there is some serious money under the hood. If you search theres a fairly comprehensive list of the mods but for example the HKS dogbox mentioned above goes for over $10k new... Pretty sure he worked it out to over $100k had been spent on the car in japan but again, search to confirm.
Ah this is the famous "$50,000 bulid that has never been driven hard incase it breaks and ends up being worth $10,000" car...
for 50k, I would expect it is a 2k model or all 2k spec gears. at least, it should have a genuine 2k bar......
That bastard.... I was supposed to buy that gearbox off him, that was a BS story and a half. Last I heard someone else has that dog box now. I agree with Tekky, $25k-$30k. Specially as he paid SFA for it from Japan, and it has a FCON which about 2 people in the country can tune.
LOL get in line, We where ALL supposed to get that box off him. I had a spare gear box and the cash waiting here for the swap. Instead he sold it to a KNOB who couldnt pay. Then had to fight to get it back. Put it back in the car. From what I know when I met him at zed shop he said he paid 30K for it from JAP land.
Much less, much much less. You used to be able to view the listing on prestige or whichever mob he bought it from.
should keep your eyes out mate, one sold on yahoo auctions for $2k (estimate was $3k landed in melb) maybe a month ago, only a single bid. As i said above he isnt specifically holding out for $50k, that was just the figure he used so people would stop sending him lowball offers & rubbish trades. He's not a motivated seller & as he's posted a few times he figures if someones really keen then they'll ring him to discuss & go from there.
Vince is in the same boat as the rest of us, you never make back what u spend on these things, no matter what's on the mod list... I hope u aren't planning on selling rob, cause you'd get 25/30k if you are lucky. Look at the apc zed, it can't sell at 18k (tho I will buy it if it's still for sale next year)
That was way back when I had heaps of spare cash to blow, have to be a bit more careful at the moment Yep, you're best off parting out and returning the car to stock. That's what I would do.
At an initial cost of $18k landed and complied he's in a slightly different boat to the rest of us.... http://www.j-spec.com.au/featured/id-1313 And back in 2005 it was $120k worth of mods?? Might be a great car, but there is alot of BS.
it not pretty to look at. In fact it doesnt look the goods in person on the outside. Its rough as bags. But mechanically its got a lot of stuff on it. I had a quick look while it was on the hoist. In retrospect, It would have been cheaper to buy this for 25K and strip it out than build a track car. But at least you get to install what you want when you build it yourself.
