    I'd go another.

Hard top next time though. Not soft top.

Too many other cars out there though, and life is too short.

Next toy will be any of the following depending on budget at the time and so long as I can keep the Chrysler also Iol:

    Mr2
    Dodge challenger
    Ferrari 308, 360, or testarossa
    Chrysler 300 srt8 core edition
    Mg midget
    Vw beetle
    Jaguar xk8 or xkr

...and you could tempt me with a massurati 3200gt

She's in getting re complied right now & should have it back tomorrow.

Might take it for a long drive on some interesting roads & see how it goes, supposed to be a good car for grip etc, could sell this and the blue Z32 & walk in to a 370Z easy enough, would want some coins left over for a turbo kit though :D

Progress is slow, certifiers decided the tiny tiny amount of damage from the tyre hitting the front of the passenger foot well needed a repair cert, That & someone had scraped the RHS rear wheel arch on something & had it repaired.

The law says it needs a repair cert if there has been structural damage (essentially any dent or damage more than 25mm deep or something along those lines) or if a previous repair has deteriorated & is likely to risk safety.
None of the "damage" on this car fits that criteria but once you enter their domain the guys have you by the balls & milk ya for all they can :mad:

Wasted an hour of my time waiting for the repair certifier to turn up this arvo - he did not show up

Never mind I will just add these costs to the price of the car, if it doesn't sell I will keep it & cut that ugly as hell ass end off & build something nicer for it

So how much was it from the wreckers? I needs to know..... :D

    They were asking $7.5k
I traded some bits n bobs & paid a touch less than that
It owes me about $10k to this stage & should have a resale value of about $16k

I can put it on a boat if ya like :D:rofl::br:

    you got that shit right

Dude I LOVE the original beetle.

And would be fun for all the family. Not just be on a track day or "cruise".

And see that's where both you and I know, a regular "dealer" would walk in, and walk out same day with a registered car.

You know after you posted, I jumped onto car sales and there are a few on there for about 13k, but with 130k on them. The up grade versions are still above 18k. I spose if you rocked up with a handful of cash it would be cheaper.

I am starting new job in a few weeks as a TAFE teacher so wont need my ute anymore seeing I am off the tools. Not sure what to buy.

Or if I even want to spend that much cash yet. When in doubt usually a good idea to do nothing ATM.

If I could find a fixer at the wreckers for 6k that would be another issue

TAFE teacher hey? Congrats! VET Education sector has been the best part of my career thus far. I advise in the use of technology (e-learning) for VET State wide. Love it!

I really looking good forward to the change. I finished my TAE in January. And have a few qualifications already to start. Am doing diploma in business, HR and management started. They shouldn't take long..

going to be a wild ride to retirement in 15 years. More qualified now than in the last 30 years of working. Lol

luckily, I am not technology illiterate so will be using all the tech I can to make delivery easier.

Spoke to the certifier today over the ph & got a bit of an ear bashing for not approaching him earlier about the car, had to listen to a few minutes of yelling down the ph.
Called in to see him in person & he suddenly realized who I was & that I HAD actually spoken to him about the car prior to working on it or taking it in for compliance, no yelling at me this time LOL!!

Needs a paper trail for the air bags & has to go on a chassis machine to confirm it is straight, contacted the guys I got the air bag kit from & that part is all sorted, dropped car off at panel beaters & said "make it right, DON'T blow my budget!"
They will talk directly with the repair certifier & once that side is done it goes back for a re check for compliance $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ poring out of my bank :(

I'll send you a pm later with some info on elearning contacts.

And TAE....yeah that was fun :D

Loved the course. Dragged my feet on the assignments lol.
Am currently putting materials together to help people towards RPLing the "facilitate online" unit.

I surprised the shit out of myself. I had the assignments in hand after the first day in December and completed ALL of them over Christmas so I just had to sit through the lectures when it started in earnest in January. Went quickly then :D

The triple diploma course is an online course based in Sydney. I really have to buckle down the next month or so and get it done. Its not exactly mind bending. 21 units for 3 diplomas isn't too bad. I estimate 1-2 weeks of night study per unit if I pull my finger out.

LOTS of RPL for quite a few other business courses as well. only 3 extra units for Diploma in Front Line management. They are cheap as online courses so no reason not to do them. At least I can deliver them then.

So I have in hand, cert 4 civil construction, cert 4 in warehousing and logistics and my old Diploma in AV media as well as the cert 4 TAE. So its a good start. Plenty of jobs for good qualified trainers out there.....

Who are you working for ?

Thanks BaZ, this happens when you are staring down the barrel of the scrap heap as you get older. No idea what OLD FOLKS shelter I am gonna end up in if I don't pull my finger out on this stuff NOW. LOL.

    Nice work :D

Yeah the TAE really opens the doors hey.

I work for government in an advisory and professional development role to both state training providers and private RTO's, state wide. I am also part of a national advisory group. As said, all aimed at supporting the use of technology in education delivery and assessment for the VET sector. You'd be surprised how many have still not embraced technology in education, even as part of a blended approach.

PMing you more details now ;)
