After 8 hours & 100,0000 or so milliseconds I have finally uploaded the majority (or, the main photo's that stood out) of Sunday's Great Ocean Road cruise, thanks to my pre-historic dial up connection. Again, it was an awesome day, we encountered all sorts of weather at different points of it, but that did not stop us on our journey :D It was my first ever Z car cruise too & a decent one at that for the first time, so hence my novel like write up.

The day started out as myself & Paul (GOTBLZ) met at the Shell servo just off of the Princess Highway, I think we both arrived there around the same time actually too, 9.30am or so to be exact. We met for the first time & had a decent chat & checked out our Z's. At this point the weather was excellent. We then continued from there to the next meeting point to meet with Tones & his girl friend at Corio McDonald's. Had a good brief chat together (Paul wisely bought a meal from Mac d's) then made our way to Shell servo up the road to fill our ladies up for the trip.

Next stop was BP on Surf coast Hwy to meet with Xavier, his Father & also JIMMYD, his girlfriend & two other good dudes which unfortunately Ive forgotten their names! We all met, then jumped back into our vehicles & made our way to Torquay to meet with Darryl (DAZX) & his Son & two girls, which we then made our first stop as one at the beach side car park. I can't actually recall stopping at the BP at Bell St in Torquay to meet with Darryl, I can just remember seeing another nice red ZX in my mirror come out of no where in the distance then onto the pack haha, good times. Looking at the photo's you can tell the weather was beautiful still, when we made our first stop. So targa's came off & it was time to hit the road again. Paul actually saw a red ZX earlier on in the day with roof racks & 2 surf boards on it! We actually then saw the same Z parked in the car park further down as we were leaving.

From here on, it was onto the Great Ocean Road itself in all of it's glory. This write up basically gives you an idea of how the day started & how we all met each other, I will now let the photo's do most of the talking. Also, if I have gotten any ones names wrong, mixed up or my geography isn't quite correct, feel free to correct me! & I do apologize if this is the case ;)

Much appreciation & thanks goes out to Paul for hosting & organizing this with Rod (whom unfortunately could not make it, but thanks again for letting us know man!) & to anyone else that couldn't either. It was great to meet You all & not to mention seeing everyone's Zx's. A good group of people, which made the day even more amazing. Anyways, here's the images I managed to capture in reverse order. I was not intending to make them look like professional shots, just simply to give you a feel for the atmosphere & the story behind them :)

The difference between the 2 red Z's colors was noticed & discussed here also.

    Chillin' out.

This next stop was at the 12 Apostles I believe, including windy conditions but no rain. I'm sure the tourists there appreciated us stopping by ;)

Damn, if we had stayed a while longer, Paul would of had those 2 chicks come as well  :D

I should really edit the Holden Astra whatever it is out of this one

After the grouse run on the GOR, we made it into Apollo Bay for a lunch break & hang out & of course, a bathroom stop after all of those tight corners.

    2 NA's & 2 TT's

This was a lookout we stopped at for a short while.

Just starting to clear up. & yes, I am also aware that my demister vents are not clipped in.

This photo was the start of the heavy downpour we encountered.

This photo here, I took just after rain hit us, though it may not look so bad, it was actually pouring down. Xavier & Paul then had to obviously very quickly, put their targa's back on. As well as the dude with the rad jeep, he got absolutely saturated! From here on Paul, myself, Darryl & Tones kept moving while, the remainder 3 had to go back to check to see if one of the guys on the motorbike was all good after having some problems (not sure if this is right or not?)

Our first stop as a group, as mentioned targa's were removed here & taking in the all around good vibe & atmosphere.

Absolutely, it was definitely the highlight of (my) whole year :D It would be great to see you guy's on the next one, I guess we would have to pick a nice day for it though, so Simon won't have to worry about getting the beast unclean ;) But knowing Melbourne's weather that could be a different story haha..

    Cheers,
    Mike

Hahaha I was thinking about how greedy he was being taking up the 2!

Although i'm not one to talk, I did the exact same thing a couple of days ago at the supermarket :D

I am not greedy, who here can tell me a ZX isn't as good as two cars?

I take up two parks because I believe the ZX is better than two standard cars, (and also nobody can park next to me)

Will post my pics up shortly :)
