    Hey all,
After a bit of research I still can't find a suitable answer for what type of clutch to run, the only answers are based on power figures not on abuse...
I am planning on running a fx racing clutch (with stock tt flywheel) but not to sure whether to use a stage 1 or 3. (S2's no longer available?) S1 is organic full face, s3 is ceramic 6 puck sprung.
This is for my fairly stock NA that will be used for track, hill climbs, drags and weekend. (TT transmission) unless is fairly simple to swap to an na flywheel ill be using a TT fly'
    Thanks
    Ben

No sense swapping to NA clutch and fly if you have a TT box.

The series 3 will be a bugger to daily, but will be happier to put up with hard launches etc.

A Full-face plate is far more forgiving than ANY 6 puck item. Given you are driving an NA I think you will get excellent use from a Full-face item.:br:

Is FX the same as F1 Racing?

If so, that's what I have. Clutch is an absolute joy all the time - traffic or boosting. Love it to death. Easy to use and perfectly able to slip it off the line too - just takes some getting used to! Love it so much that I'm refusing to change it despite my new build's potential power being well over what it's rated at... would rather see how I go than have to risk installing a painful replacement...

Organic Full Face Clutch Plate is what you require & here's why:

    From RACELOGIC

A common mistake is to bang the clutch in and instantly spin the wheels.
The first 10 metres is the most critical phase, even a small amount of wheel spin at these low speeds is very high in percentage terms.
The clutch should be slipped whilst not breaking traction, but not too much as to impede forward progress.
If you can't slip the clutch, then change it for one you can, you are losing out, here is why :-
The clutch can be used as torque converter.
The torque curve on a race engine is going to be biased towards higher rpm, at low rpm there will not be a surplus of torque over wheel spin.
Therefore the engine needs to rev before it can accelerate the vehicle at an effective rate.
The clutch translates this high rpm into high torque.

On a low powered engine that cannot spin the wheels in first gear, the slipping clutch translates the stored momentum of the engine into torque to artificially boost the acceleration in the first few metres.
On a high-powered vehicle, the slipping clutch prevents the wheels from initially breaking traction, the most important factor in a good start.

I recently changed my clutch to the JWT clutch that Coz sells, for my NA.

They have a TT version listed:

I have used Clutch Industries & Exedy clutches in the past, & i can easily say that the JWT NA clutch I'm currently using is by far the best clutch ive had in the zed. It took me a bit to get used to but it is soo easy to use now & ill happily recommend it. So just another option to consider if you decide to go another brand other than FX racing.

Unless you have a crazy built NA, get full face organic. Puck clutch would be massive overkill.

So i guess im looking at clutches the wrong way... im looking at how it will handle being abused. But driving properly (not riding the clutch, rev matching ect) ill get the same life with a full face to a 6 puck
just having an easier to drive car with the full Face??

A decent compound in an organic clutch will take tonnes of abuse, the organic I pulled out of my car when changing bits and pieces took a bunch of failed launches, attempted drifting and motorkhanas without ever glazing or burning. In fact, the clutch disc was the least worn component in the assembly, aluminium flywheel had a rippled friction disc and the pressure plate fingers were worn about halfway through from the thrust bearing.

I've put a JWT organic clutch in now and no issues to report, my driving is much better than it was though.

F1 Stage 3(button clutch) in my NA, same clutch in my TT now. NEVER slipped, easy as pie to drive. Ask anyone that has driven my zed.

Organic will be fine for an na, my exedy has sure taken a beating and it's holding up fine behind the na with limiter launces and repeated clutch kicking trying to keep it sideways.
