300zx tt vs fg xr6 turbo

Since on the latest thing zx vs theme

FG xr6 turbo with lets say mild exhaust.

I had one but wondering what ppl going to say. Anyone out there had a go against these?

 

just guessing...

but I would assume that the XR6 turbo would be faster.....

but with both cars being modded, then I guess it depends on who has the most money...

 

unfortunately the FG would dust the 300zx

 

Stock for stock you cant really match a gt35 series turbo for outright power.

Im really starting to hate these threads?. who cares, really. And if you really wanna know, go out on a friday night and hunt one down.
This isnt directed at OP directly, more so everyone who makes these 300zx vs (whatever) threads. Very childish.

I drive a zed because I like that car and always have. I dont drive a zed because its the fastest car in the world.

Having a passion for your car comes down to much much more than just which car you can beat on the street.

 

Agreed with above, stop these stupid ego building threads.
Depending on the driver, the cars, the mods, the launch, the track conditions and who can play Rick Astley the loudest will all affect the outcome.
From personal experience, a z32 can win against a modified xr6 turbo, went something like this.
"Nice car mate, do the holes in the front make it go faster?"
"Yeh they do actually, did you not pass high school science?"

I have heard of a fair few XR Turbo owners now having their Turbo's stolen, found bonnet up in the morning out the front with no Snail, bahaha!

Seconding what Urhyns is saying, these threads are pointless and are bringing the level or maturity of the Z forum down. There's always going to be a more powerful car out there. If you feel the need to compete at every traffic light you're compensating for a small member. Build your car to the power level that puts an ear to ear grin on your face and be happy, you're not out there to compete especially on public roads.

i was interested to know if anyone else had a run with these things. i had a experience and just interested if it ended like mine did.

so as anyone else that had runs with other models they were puzzled and wanted to know why. whats childish about that?

also i buy/build cars for what suits me. which is bit of power and handling.

I've been in the game long enough to know there is always someone with more money that is faster.

btw my experience ended in FG 1:0. but I wasn't giving it all (many reasons). if was prob would have been 0:0 or maybe 0:1. not sure hence the question. guy was a tool in the FG so didn't bother asking about what mods.

anyway home time. time to enjoy the drive with my Fairlady Z TT.... :zlove:

 

Well stock FG will pull a 13.4 I am led to believe. Stock TT Z 14.2.

Easy to get a zed to 13.4 secs with minor mods. But then again, mod the FG and it'll be faster again.

Compare the prices tho... The Z wins!

the past 3 FG XR6's i've seen have run up 250rwkw-255rwkw on the dyno stock STANDARD :O

 

300zx can beat them from a rolling start, well the 300zx beats nearly anything from a rolling start

 

Mike, the rolling start is where the Z shines.. plus torque gearing, aerodynamics, weight etc all matter aswell

has an xr6t, 4L beats 3L every time stock for stock, forget about the ford being slow of the mark to, they hammer straight out the box.
