300ZX stolen, Fountain Gate:

Just letting everyone know that my 300ZX was stolen from the Fountain Gate Library carpark today/tonight.

Please check the link out so if you see it on the road parked, ditched, set on fire, etc etc you can at least ring the police and let them know you've spotted it, would be greatly appreciated.
Bloody Fountain Gate. Apparently it's the second hottest spot for car thefts in the Metropolitan area. Out of control according to Security who I spoke to there. They even do daytime patrols now as cars are getting pinched in broad daylight all the time. 3rd car in this week stolen from there... Unbelievable. Must be because Narre Warren is a breeding ground for lowlives. Makes total sense.
Thanks for any help in advance. Little down knowing that my Z is getting raped one way or another at the moment.

Did you have an immobiliser etc? that sucks hopefully you get it back ok.

I live in narre warren. Its been the worst suburb for car thefts for several years now. ive worked in this area too as a bouncer at the local venues. Cops seem to be doing little about anything out here really.

Whats the basic security on most Z's? My 1990 Jap-spec has a car alarm, immobiliser and steering lock. I still cant park it in Dubbo though

If its insured and it doesnt reappear anywhere. It may be one of the better things to have happened. They are worth more as insurance claims than sold as cars.

Thanks, appreciated. I should add, one of the stand out mods were probably the strut and spring combo. They were Koni Yellow Adjustables, with Tanabe GF210 Springs. Not many Zedders run these if I'm not mistaken, so that might be a tip off.

Thanks Mafi. Yeah I feel a little violated. It was for sale but I spent a lot of time servicing it with the 100k service, engine paint job, fuel regulator install, yadda yadda. Seems wasteful ending like this. It does feel like rape you got that right! Getting it back now after it's been hooned in most likely would be like getting your Girlfriend back after 10 guys have gone through her.

Thanks Tek. yeah it could be a blessing in disguise. It has been valued at 11k according to my insurer Just Cars. It was advertised for 9k with a RWC, so to come out 2k up would be nice indeed. I really hope it isn't recovered and fixed however..
And yes Fountain Gate is such a hole. Might even start looking for other part time work. I was going to start studying full time next year anyway. I don't want to put my belongings at risk just for the sake of work.

Sucks mate. Funny how the cops don't seem to find to many car theives. I bet if we sat a car there as a bait trap then when they broke in it locked automatically and we got hold of them and gave them a flogging they would find the resources to catch us. This sucks as it really isn't that hard to set the trap but there just isn't any money in catching low life bastards like them is there. Good luck i really hope you get it back and the arse holes have given it a good wash and engine upgrade, but something tells me it not the norm.

Update time. Bad news I guess. Got a tip off from the Security Guard we dealt with 2 nights ago at Fountain Gate that he saw a Z matching my description parked on the Monash as he was heading into the city this morning. Even the Insurance guy on the phone for Just Cars saiud he saw it parked there this morning too! Anyway, I found it on the Monash Freeway inbound, just after the Police Road entry ramp. It was parked on the side of the road..
Car looked fine. No obvious panel damage, tyres still alright I guess.. The parcel shelf was ripped out. Cargo Cover ripped out. Looking for stereo bits obviously. And the bad news... It was parked on the side because the engine carked it. The starter cranks it over, doesn't clack around in there, but there's a sh1t load of oil in the battery tray and its sprayed up over the right hand side of the engine. The high temp paint on the plenum has lifted in spots telling me it has overheated at least once badly. I'm guessing a blown Turbo and more more more.. I just wished they had crashed, burnt and died a slow death in there, that would have made me smile and feel a bit better at least.

And there's like a RM Williams straw hat and unopened band aids and a tissue box scattered in the boot. WTF? And the driver seat was adjusted ALLA THE WAY FORWARD! A very smmall person driving, I reckon a girl. There was some long hair on the parcel shelf next to the hat.
POlice came and looked, can't fingerprint it because of the rain. The cops were really great people. Both Senior Constables working out of the Glen Waverley station. Got towed to a depot where it'll get towed on Monday to Just Car depot and assessed. Hope it needs a new engine and more and is written off because now it has just been raped something fierce by these little punks. I'm guessing teenagers.
And yes, I am never ever leaving an eyecatching car without at least a club lock and state of the art alarm immobiliser fitted, unattended in Fountain Gate ever again. Sh1thole.

Hope it gets paid out. Don't want it back now. Should I update the 'For Sale ad' with said information?

Oh to live in a country where they cut thief's hands off... but alas we live in a country we the governments are more interested in treating the roads as a cash-cow rather than protecting lives. Do you think these little shights drove within the speeds limits and considered the safety of other drivers.

They will be delinquent teenagers not going to school, or slightly older who have no intentions of ever getting a job.

 

I agree. Cutting peoples hands and feet off for theft might not be 'socially acceptable' but it sure does work. Look at their crime rates. I bet they are bloody low compared to ours which are a joke. Crime is out of control here because the punishment doesn't fit the crime, it's easy to get off and it has been allowed to get out of control. Gotta be fair to everyone, you know how it goes... If i find out one way or another who did it, I'll turn their kneecaps into mash potato with a lock bar.
And you can bet mummy or daddy showed them how to break into a car or condone it. What a great place we live in.

 

Doubt they will fix it, Look forward to your payout.

If they are wavering on fixing it. Tell them dont want it back. Cause if they thrashed it as we think it will never be reliable again.

Even if you do a deal at 9K you are still ahead.
