300zx problem need help :(

Hi guys i was just driving my car in like stop start traffic but nothing like peak hour when all of a sudden when i was looking at my boot gage it was only going to 5/6psi and i could feel like that car wanted to go more but wasnt able to. Usually the car will hit about 12 to 14 psi
i just check all the major lines like running of the front mount and nothing seems to be pooped off or busted, not sure what it could be and hoping its not like a blown turbo or anything
just seeing if anyone is able to help?

 

Safety boost...

Your ECU has either detected some pinging, or the det sensor wiring is starting to play up. Or something else, but either way, it sounds like safety boost. Check for error codes and see what codes it shows.

 

Thanks for the advice on the way to the mechanics it seems to reset its self n is running like normal

 

as far as i know (dont quote me tho) safety boost doesnt fix itself...

 

yes it does, the ECU will reset itself after 50 starts or if it's been disconnected from the battery for more than an hour

 

Yer thats what i did when i left it in the garage i had the battery un hooked and then when i turned it on it was working again.
Not sure if this was the problem but this happened just after i had washed the car is it possible that maybe a little bit of water when thru the front mount or something?? Not really sure if it possible just say thou

 

And know i know something new

 

It's gone for now, but it will resurface. I had a safety tune problem on my old NA that came and went for some months, it made diagnosing impossible and I spent all my money on fuel. Keep looking for the problem.

 

Yer im taking it into my uncles work shop on the weekend while no ones around n ill go thru and see what i can find

 

I have has a few problems with both air leaking into the system (causing safety boost) . (you can make a pressure tester out of a plastic drink bottle - search the forum)

and also the (heat effected) wiring to the det sensor has caused this as well. I have had the Det sensor and new harness from the loom repositioned at the back of the engine (which is also easy to do if this turns out to be the problem) as a temporary measure until I have the plennum pull completed when I will replace the original structure.
