Ok my Z is looking awful sorry, i need your guys opinion on what is best to do, if quotes are right? Involved in a collision Heres the photos. Car Details: 1989 300zx 2+2 Targa, Non Turbo 140,000 Kms and mechanical good, no oil leaks or issues. As far as i see i have 2 options.Fix it and Sell it as a wreck. Option 1. (Get It fixed at Panel Beater) As far as parts, it requires: -Bumper -Headlight -Front Corner Side Body Panel -Bonnet I have been quoted $1300 for these four parts, plus $1400 for Labour to paint and fit, aswell as repair some of the bent bars behind the bumper etc. Do you guys think these quotes sound about right, for parts and labour? Option 2. (Sell it for scrap) It's it current condition how much would i be able to get for it. Thanks for all the help
You can get the parts from the forum for alot cheaper than that. Have a look or post in the wanted section. If you're lucky you may be able to get them in the same colour but chances are a bit low! $1300 to fit and spray is in the ball park but is a bit steep. I believe you could do better if you shop around. Cheers, Adam
get the parts urself and install them, fairly simple and ud be able to get the parts cheap from people wrecking zeds here on the forum... all those parts mentioned shouldnt cost you more than say roughly $400 from other members sale threads... obviously depends what damage has been done behind all this but doesnt look like anything, but ye ud have to confirm that when u remove everything... painting shouldnt cost you more than 1k roughly for the front end...
hey mate, not much damage there at all, no big deal really.....nothing structural anyway! i have the headlight, bonnet and gaurd all available for sale, and it would be less than $200 for all three of those parts.....then we can source you a bumper, even a aftermarket one if you prefer then just got to get it sprayed and put together.... send me a pm and we can work it all out
This ^ Parts can be had here for around these prices: Bonnet: $50-$100 Headlights: $50-$70 each Guard: $50 Front Bar: $100 Total: At most, $400. Saved almost a grand right there. Good luck.
Yeah the guys are pretty much right on parts. It depends on any damage to the headlight bucket or radiator supports.
I'm no panel beater, but how it looks, it doesn't seem so bad. looks can be deceiving though... From working on mine, id say start removing the bonnet, guard and bumper and inspecting any other damage.
spoke to the owner, its a few weeks old the damage.....hes going to come round to my place with the car and we will have a good look at what he needs to fix, replace etc.
All sorted thanks everyone Special thanks to Jinxed (Ross) for being so helpful, makes me regain faith in humanity
your welcome mate, like isaid, try and make it to some club events some time....if your going to bother owning a sports car, you may as well enjoy the damn thing lol...
