the hinges on my convertible broke and I went to Nissan in Japan and they don't make them anymore. I found this guy in America and sent them to him to get repaired. Just thought I would post here for other's information Trevor http://www.freewebs.com/leftfieldengineering/300zxrepair.htm
Cast Aluminum, with that flat section. That really looks like a break waiting to happen after being stressed. Good find and post for those who will have that problem. I assume there is ZERO clearance around that flat section when the part is fitted, because the guy grinds down the repair and makes it look neat, rather than welding a small fin to further strengthen the area. I just wondered if cosmetic aesthetic was ahead of strength?
off topic Off Topic, but I didn't realise it was only a one off concept when I saw the pic that someone else posted in a different thread (which l can't find now)
You can send them in to Z1 to be repaired if you can't find anything else. We charge $85 per side to repair those.
