    Been a bit of debate about chrome wheels being standard on the 300zx. I was very interested in buying a Zed when they came out in 1990 but never had the money. From memory, chrome wheels were never offered in Australia and neither were they a Japanese option. I have considerable contact with parts recyclers in the States who tell me the chrome wheels were a dealer option at a time in the US when chrome was in vogue. As a result the chrome is likely to be showing its age these days!:eek:

    They all tell me that the only wheels available from Nissan were the cast alloy ones but Erik says he has a brochure saying different.

    Any help or suggestions people???:):zlove::)

    pretty sure in my japanese brochure there is a pic of a zed with the polished wheels.

    and these are the genuine polished ones...they seem to be in great condition....you just have to find the right ones and ones that have been looked after

    Problem is that both Japan and America use salt on their roads to help with ice. Any pitting of the chrome instantly starts to rust underneath because of this and that essentially finishes the chrome for good.
    I have found one set in the States but the owner says it needs some TLC which gives me concern!

    I found these on ebay.......

    Only problem is they want US$1687 changeover!:eek: They do however look factory!

    i just dont see the point on getting some polished us specs unless they are legit. otherwise there is nothing rare about them at all. i have found plenty of places in the states that are willing to chrome the stocks, and they come out nice, but yeah

    But how do you tell they are legit. I mean the factory cast ones will have the Nissan stamp so once they are chromed they will look legit..........unless the factory chrome ones have a "special" marking of some kind and that is what I am trying to find out.

    Those US ones have this on the inside....

    ADAMZX 2000spec Conversion

    from what ive been able to gather as well is yes they were a dealer option but only avaliable on the TT models, not the NAs. As for the 2000spec models they were an option i would gather. Im hoping i have the correct black Z centre caps part number which im going to try and order soon which will look better on my polished zx rims but yeh if i could get factory i feel like i have the best zx rims i can buy, without having to get them polished separately.

    here is a picture of the stock TT chrome/polished rims ive seen

    Now compare to my custom polished zx rims

    As mentioned before....found a set of black chrome at this stage but as yet......no chrome.

    Oh....and the chrome ones are a lot heavier I am told so shipping will be more.
