recently had 300klm speedo fitted by local service station, since fitted was working ok.when i reversed the needdle went forward to 300klm and stayed there, driving along needdle did'nt move and power steering light came on, i let it sit for a few hours then started it up again and every thing was fine no light on drove home 2hr drive everything fine. Two weeks later had'nt drove the car anywhere,i cruised to melb on the weekend for the ndsoc xmas party,on the way home about 10klm from my place the needle just went pass the 300klm and just stayed there then power steering light came on and steering got heavier, got home and hav'nt started it since.I spoke to the fellow who fitted it, he done everything it said in the instructions replacing resistor R10 thats all it said. Also there was another set of instructions saying you should replace C2 also, what do you think, could that be the problem.

Id say the steering would get heavy because...

...the ecu thinks that you're doing 300kph!

I'd resolder the all the solder joints on the speedo circuit board
