Anyone not going to Karl's weekend techday are welcome to help me assemble and install the motor back into the poor gurl. Will be picking up the engine on saturday morning and with luck would like to have it running by sunday nite.
I'll be getting the engine back with the heads and sump installed so there is a fair bit to put back together before being able to drop the motor in.
I'll fire up the BBQ and chuck some snags on for lunch for both days maybe even some light beers for the arvo, will just need to know if anyone wants to lend a hand.
I live in GOODNA towards Ipswich pm me for the address if you are interested in coming.
Its abit of a long shot that will get it all done in a weekend but i need the car back on the road asap.

    yeh i know bad timing

but i need to get the motor in a run in before warwick which isnt too far away. also kinda broke a cv on the posh :( yesterday unsure how much and how long it will take me to get that replaced so plan is to get the zed back on the road and get it run in for the nationals and sort the porsche out in due time.

max the only thing ive changed this time is newer intake valves as the ones i replaced 2 years ago were stuffed, and i'll be running the JUN cam gears this time as well, going from what rollin was tellin me from the flow rate of the heads should get alot more grunt out of her this time, time will tell what the end result will be thou..

nah i have to get the engine in

with how close the nationals are i need to get the motor in run it in as much as possible and also get it retuned for the cam gears, that allows me about 6 weeks to run the motor in id like to have close to 5000km on the clock before hitting the track. make sure yas think of me over the weekend. i'll prob post my progress tomorow nite, my hopes are i'll have the motor ready to be dropped in first thing sunday morning. so 7hours roughly to put everything on from block and heads bolted on.

    NOT FINISHED :(

well after a couple of same hicupps and the heat i got most of the gear back on the motor and its now sitting in the car, at one stage this morning i was going to leave it and drop the engine in next weekend but decided at 11:30 after ringing kennards and gettin a engine hoist to drop it in, but after dropping it in and taking the hoist back it was after 3pm so called it a weekend there. reason i called it a weekend i noticed that after bolting up the gearbox only couple of bolt but all 6 to the gearbox mount that the inspection plate was sitting on the garage floor DOH!!
going to find out next weekend if i can get the plate on without taking the flywheel and clutch off again.

on a final not if the mods can maybe change the title to

    "Let her roar" 7th Feb

if anyone might want to come hear her fire for the first time
should be about 12 when this happens

If you are talking about the shim plate between the gearbox and block, then I think you'll find they do need to come off. From memory, I had to put the plate on 1st before the fly and clutch, I think. So don't quote me on it. Might get lucky and it will go over. You've done this enough times AZA, you should know this off the top of you head. :p
