I put a set of repro 2000 spec headlight inserts up for sale a few months back and they didnt sell.....Im really glad they didnt as I took the time to insall them in my spare headlights today and they look fantastic...will be going on my Zed...opinions
Nice work mate, only thing i can suggest is make sure you have them waterproofed big time. And they will look good with a nice set of Xenon's or HID's .
I would also be seeing how much the raised insert is blocking your light. iirc the 2k lights are raised a little higher because of this.
Looks like a big job. You definitely need a spare set to work on so your car stays driveable. I also have a spare set and I have removed the bracket that holds the bulb on the hi beam to try and clean the reflector. All the adjustment gears were brittle or broken so l decided to replace them. (Have you checked yours?) I bought 8 sets of tamiya differential gears so l can fix up two sets of headlights. (Thanks to the guys who posted in the tech) I am waiting for the post man to deliver my tamiya gears. If you have made the effort to do this much you may as well replace the gears. The white plastic bevel gear in top centre of pic. You need two for that adjuster and another two for the low beam. So two sets (each set has a pair of gears) per light.
Finished.......after spending the day sikaflexing the glass back inro place and cleaning up the headlight shells,,,,the headlight conversion is finished....looks great
They look great, I would have used matt black instead of gloss, but either way, it's a nice result :zlove:
