Hey guys! I've used 'search' and only came up with "2 seaters to 2+2" I thought a 2+2 to 2+0 would be more common! lol well.. I love the body of a 2+2 but the back seats are just a waste of space IMO. For me at least. So I want it cleared and switched to a 2 seater model. I was wondering if any of you 2+2 owners have done a perfect or near perfect conversion from a 2+2 to a 2+0 model?? Anyone here have an input regarding the topic? Or is there anywhere I can get information about it?? Anything at all would be great Thanks! -YakuzaMoon
the back seat weights about 3kg so theres no weight saving to be had and the seat folds down when you need the extra room. So why would you?
Ztoy did it I believe. I just fold the back seat down or its only 4 screws and a bit of mucking around to pull it out.
fold the seat down. mine is folded all the time. it's also bloody handy to have when on that rare occasion you taxi friends around between locations on a friday night. also bought leather rear seats and when folded they are very stealthy. tweed stands out like dogs nuts.
Hmm.. yeah it's not a bad idea to keep them. But I still prefer the 2+0 look of the back Probably a custom sub box to replace it or something, keep the boot clean and accessable (old sub in there) for tools + spare tyre and whatever else that may come in handy in those situations. Just found a really old thread on it abit late lol Just PM'd Ztoy about it. Thanks disasterpiece! Still would be interested to see pics of anyone who has got rid of their back seats and done something different to it. -YakzuaMoon
yeah I removed the rear seats and fit a storage compartment in its place. Ill take and post up some pics of it tomorrow.
Here are the promised pics of my box. Its a simple design and it serves it puropse. I coudnt keep the back seats as I had fitted a fixed back seat. Seats were useless to me anyway. Top lid of the box hinges on the original hinge of the seat. I find it really handy for hiding my harness and helmet. And i had it chockaz with cleaning products when we did the armidale meet. You could easily make a decent sub box with the space as there would be a good 100lrs of air in there.
Long time ago I saw pics on here of someone who made a even bigger box in place of the rear seats and it's filled with 4 or something subs. Tried finding the thread but failed...
lol damn, 4 subs.. funny story regarding subs you just reminded me! Old mate of mine had a 1990 Honda Prelude, stuck a 1,200watt sub in the back. I had a S13 Silvia at the time. He's pumping the sub like crazy down at Chappel St. as you Melb. guys know how it's always full of traffic and crowded on a Sat night. Prelude shit itself in the middle of Chappel from too much power from the Sub  Quite embarassing.. had to push the car off the side of the road. Capacitors would've been an awesome idea I like your replacement there Ztoy, would come in very handy for storage and stuff. Thanks man, really appreciate it -YakuzaMoon
i recently took my rear seats out. just put carpet where they were, just have to re-register as a 2+0 zed. i also have fixed back brides to go in, so the rears will be useless. may consider a shelf but it doesnt look to bad with just carpet.. in itself i should have brought a 2+0 tt. but im in love with the 2+2 aus spec, and the tt is here so why not eh. good luck yakuza.
Good luck with trying to register it as a 2+0. In NSW you have no chance, once it's a 2+2 it's a 2+2 forever(even if you remove all the seats AND the wheels, fill it full of dirt, and plant cabbages in it).:zlove:
Well that's unreasonable Up here it's as simple as removing the seats, the belts and permanently plugging the holes for the belts with a bolt and weld. Then it's just a mod plate.
 Yeah, you can! Just pull up the two thingii's on each corner of the seats. It's not bad.. but I prefer a clean look so decided going with a 2+0 styled interior since the rear seats are useless for me. Better turn it into something more useful like for storage, first aid kit (never know lol), couple of desert eagles, c4 etc etc. Thanks for the replies and ideas guys - will definately look more into it and will post pics of the results -YakuzaMoon
i hear its not the same in vic. as long as the seats are removed, the holes for the rear seat belts are filled. in my case harness's it should be fine to re-register.
That's awesome. Should be no problems then. Just took out the seat now have a look what I have to deal with... putting it back in place was a B!tc#! I see room for at least 2 massive subs lol still prefer a storage. -YakuzaMoon By the way... those with J-Spec Z's.. you guys still have your flares on the passenger side..?? lol
