Doc I can't make this any clearer to you:

PISS OFF!! your views and opinions are NOT welcome in this thread, you have shown yourself to be nothing but a complete and utter ASS on 3ZC to the point where I have virtually abandoned that forum (want you want no doubt).

I have told you twice and now three times you are not welcome in the this thread due to your shite stirring ways, this is the last time.

next you will start complaining that because they werent back to back on the same day that atmospheric pressure may have skewed the readings, I for one see the test for what it is a glimpse of what we can realistically expect if we pull the 2" pipework off and fit the 2.5". as far as I can see SFA...... yes a bit more lag and turbos working harder to get that little bit more hp at the same boost lvl. not worth it unless push the limits of the engine and at that point I am sure that there are better ways to redo the inlet tract.

I am not saying this is a perfect indepth detailed test. But I do feel it gives anyone who is contemplating the change a better idea of what they can expect than the magic numbers that are just spouted with nothing to back them up. here we have 2 dyno runs. one with 2" pipework one with 2.5" otherwise the car is the same not retuning no other alterations of any sort just 1 inlet vs the other. What more can we ask someone to do.

Heading back to the dyno again on Friday with the now completed car that has the 2.5" boost pipe kit fitted AND the 2.5" turbo intake pipe kit.
We intend to have a bit of a muck around and see what changes we can make to effect the power output, for instance if we remove a section of 2.5" pipe and replace it with 2" pipe are the results what you would expect?.

I have a cunning plan for testing the effect of the inlet system without going through massive dramas changing components etc - should make for some interesting photos :)

Have you guys been monitoring AFR's at all during the pipe swaps has there been any difference during dyno runs?

Not totally related but I know for sure when I changed from stock coolers to aftermarket front mount the tune leaned out from 12:1 to 13:1

Ye we have been watching AFRs and found no change at all, using a MAP sensor and air inlet temp sensor so if set up correctly this all self adjusts in any case.

Just got home now, 9PM, left the house at 7.45AM kind of long day.

Didn't have any time to do any testing with pipes BUT made a good healthy 465Kws at 18PSI boost :D
Then we found the new pump we put in wasn't enough for the job :confused::(

EDIT: a bit to tired for remember numbers of pumps etc, will update when I've had a vodka or twelve.

Are those 4's meant to be 3's?

    No no

I had a brain fart and was thinking the smaller Walbro pumps were 340Lph, they are not the Aeromotive ones are so please completely ignore what I wrote about the pumps.

The power output of 465Kws is correct though :D and that was on pump gas, we will be back to get the Australasian record :D

    FICK NO! :eek::rofl:

465rwkw at 18PSI on Disco potatoes, Mungyz/AMS 2.5" inlet system, AMS 2.5" boost pipe kit, Z1 split down pipes, twin 2.5" exh system (that'll create a stir!), Z1 intercoolers modified to 2.5" pipes,AMS fuel rails, 850cc injs, not enough fuel pump or line and not enough time in the day to chase the last 36kws to take the record. Not my car, this is the car the boost pipe kit was purchased for.

Quote from Mike C (current Australasian record holder) from our NZ site:

    "Easy power, sounded nice.
One of the easiest tuning sessions I have seen in a long time.

    Congrats

Pie was kept warmed on the handy pie warmer engine bay while the new fuel pump was fitted! Good to see Walbro producing a decent flowing fuelpump."

I invited Mike to come for a look and he came bearing pies and drinks :D
Thanks for that Mike, most expensive pie warmer in the country but does a pretty good job

If it were my car making that much power I'd be making a little more noise about it

Mine should do around 400 - 435 maximum unless I go and change the turbos to the bigger GT28Rs or similar, that's not completely out of the question but at this stage not a priority.
