Ok instead off hogging someone elses post i managed to jinx my car.

    The story:

Went out for lunch 5min drive or so. It was one of my work mates first time in zx so i planted it once twice. All good drove normaly, got to maccas had lunch. Took about 30min. Started it and straight away noticed something wasnt right:mad:

Seemed to run on 5 only. On the way to work seemed to get better after 3k

Anyway few hrs later when it cooled down i tried starting again. Hoping it go away :D but it didn't

Limped home a 30min drive and it was nonstop runing on 5 regardless of rpm.

Got home plug in the conzult had code 34 knock sensor 20 starts ago. So not today.

I cleared the code and rechecked again came with code 55 all good

But it wasn't. still runing on 5

    Started unplugging coil packs

Cyl no 6 is the culprit.

Took the coilpack swapped it with no 2. Checked the plug while i was at it. Seemed ok. Though i expected it to be wet but it wasnt.

Put all back together coilpack no 6 thats in no 2 now works fine. Still missing on no 6.

    What next?

Was going to check the wiring to coil pack see if all the signals are present. But top gear started so ill check later.
    Injector is my next guess
Could it be PTU? ( seems like a new unit was installed recently)

Sucks as there is no error codes to help out

Please help.flyin interstate tommorow wont be back till sunday but want to figure out whats the provlem asap.

    Cheers

PTU's have been known to do some pretty funky stuff, is it a series 1?

It is ser1 ptu but not original. Looks new. Its nissan but one side is potted in silicone. No plastic face plate with numbers stampted.
Instead has a blue nissan sticker on the side.

    Ill try the injector next

BTW i did a screen shot

One of the oxy sensors is reading low while the other one is reading 0.8v???

    FIXED WooooooHoooooo! :D :zlove:

Damn injector plug. Its the only one missing the metal clip:mad:

It was tight but not pushed down enough. I must have pulled on it when i was sorting out the wiring behind the engine the other day.

Anyone know if u can buy the coilpack plugs new mine are crap. Want to replace it.

So stocked. Doesnt run like a beetle. Still didnt take it for a drive but im sure its all good.

Thanks for help and support guys.

The flux cap should work properly now too :br:

Well worth ordering new injector plugs and fitting them - its a prick of a job with the engine in the car as your back is dead after leaning over to solder the new ones on - but worth every cent! My car used to be a b!tch - every time I touched the wiring loom it would drop cylinders....nothing like dirty injector connectors and broken plugs! [TIS]

swap coilovers. swap spark plugs. try another PTU.
Next you can do volt check using multimeter accross # 1 injector connector.

Injector plugs are new so as tps plugs.done by previous owner.so as new s1 ptu unit.

Just this particular one on 6 was missing its locking clip. I probably partialy pulled it out accidentaly, while i was sorting out the loom and hoses the other day.

Im thinking in replacing all coilpack plugs first than everything else. Nissan or someone else????

Kabir thanks mate. Problem solvered allready ;) It was a disconnected injector plug.

Thats what probably triggered the knock code earlier.no fuel in cyl 6 lean mixture. Should have known straight away when i noticed the spark plug was dry that it was injector. Know now

    Now i can sleep tonight

    Thanks guys

Just went for a testdrive. runs sweet me happy now:) :br::zlove:

I did have a look. Dont need injector plugs they are fairly new. I should have a spare injector locking pin somewhere that should stop the above issue in future

Need coilpack ones they have seen better days.

Go to your local wrecking yard. Search the engine bays of Nissan Pulsars or maximas. Will be able to find a matching clip for your injector connector.
Look in the engine bays of N14 (I think) Pulsars. Passenger side chassis rail, close to the firewall- there is ONE connector per vehicle that matches the VG Coilpack connector perfectly, with 300mm of wire to play with. Fill a bucket of them for $10 bucks :) Virtually every one you will come across will be in perfect condition..... unless crushed when engine was removed.

You need to reach 88 mph to time travel, also make sure you are producing 1.21 RWGW.

Thanks Kabir for the link. That is awsome and evil  i can see myself spending lots of dosh on that site.

OZX-320 will check the wreckyards hopefully find some good ones. Long overdue for a visit to U-pull-it wreckers here. What other plugs suit from pulsar? I need O2 harness side, Pretty much all the ones at the back.

R33K well that was my problem all along. I had the numbers all wrong.:( me bad. No wonder it wasn't working

Take care guys cheers for the help

UPI Elizabeth are good for Pulsars atm. There is also a burnt out z32 TT Auto Jspec. Looks too burn out for an engine fire. Im thinking insurance job. lol.

Done this trick many of times. Pay my $2 and go for a walk. Grab the plugs are required.
