Am buying a 350z (yes it's true) but only 'cos they aren't making them anymore so it's now or never.

The 300ZX is garaged, and only driven occasionaly on weekends. Has had the full blown 100k service and timing belt changed by a Nissan Dealer, brand new clutch, centre bearing, been regularly serviced and comes will full service history.

I've removed the Stillen bodykit and put on a standard 4 leg rear spoiler to get better ground clearance and access to the rear fog light - plus I think it looks better. Only other mod is to add the j-Spec front driving lights.

    Everything else is stock standard.

Pitty you sold the original body kit

Pitty you sold the original Stillen body kit, because without it I hate to say but your zed is now just a standard 1995 NA Australian delivered 2+2 with some nice rims.

    The only 'pity' here is....

that having once seen this car, I won't be the one buying it !!
That was a few years ago, but it still looks a cracker!

It's going to be one very lucky person who gets this car.
    Good luck with the sale.

    Cheers Andy.

Well, a well looked after original car is always going to be a better buy than a poorly modified one. A lot of upgrades really just downgrade the car unless they are done absolutely right, which is very hard for the average home mechanic.

If the Stillen kit was an original Stillen in poly, it would might have been an upgrade. If it was a fibreglass copy, definitely a downgrade.

Regardless, for a 1995 25th Anniversary Special to be special, any mods are going to make it just any car.

At least with an unmodified car, you know what you are getting and you can make it into what you want, not what somebody else tried to make it.

Actual in this case it definitely does

Actual in this case it definitely does ... a 25th Anniversary without the original Stillen body kit is no longer a 25th Anniversary.

Then by that logic, would a '95 NA 2+2 with the body kit make it an Anniversary? It might not be an Original model, but it would still be a genuine one. Take the original kit off, even through personal preference, and you will depreciate the 'original' factor, but it should still be genuine.

Thanks for your support Stef, Andy et al - I removed the body kit for both practical and aesthetic reasons.

In the case of the former the front spoiler was way too low for everyday use and despite how careful I was I was constantly scraping it and then having to have it retouched. The rear valence covered up the rear fog light which was damm handy when reversing out of a long driveway at night and the rear wing was right in the middle of my field of vision.

From a looks perspective I personally love the 4 leg rear spoliers and the rear end looks way better without the valence but that's a personal thing.

It still has the Stillen suspension though and that's way better than standard - it is the best handling car I have ever driven. The AVS wheels are also still there as well of course which also contribute to the handling.

I'm a firm believer in "go before show" and yes I believe that you could view the car as no longer being an orginal 25th Anniversay Special but I reckon I've kept the important bits. It's not a huge job to put the bodykit back on anyway should someone be so inclined.

Thanks Andy - I have spared no expense on the car, it's hardly been driven and is in really good nick. I don't want to sell it but have simply run out of room.

    FACTS

This IS a Stillen 25th Anniversary Model. By the fact that this is a matching numbers authentic car. The front lip can be put back on and doesnt change the lines of the car. It still runs original front / rear bumpers. Yes the aprons or skirts are sold as standard but the car still is what is was brand new essentially. In any case you can make a regular 300zx a replica of a Stillen 25th, but if the numbers dont match its a fake. This car by right is authentic.

Brilliant car. I cant wait to drive it hopefully this weekend.

    authentic yes,

My original post was "Pitty you sold the original body kit".

But to be honest, looking at the online professional car sales market, unfortunately whether it is an 25th, a Tommy Kaira, or standard does not appear to make a big difference on the market. There is current five 25th for sale (4x blue, 1x white or 12% of the total 25ths produced.)

I'm glad that's settled - and yes there are an unusually high number of 25th Anniversay Specials on the market at the moment in prices that range from $26,500 down to $15,000 - largely due to the km's they have done. The one for $26,500 for example has done 65,000 then mine at 109,500 then upwards from there.

As im in the market for a 25th Anniversary model, 'what matching numbers' should I be looking at?
