1990 non turbo rebuild or re-con how much?

    Hey guys. I have a 1990 aus spec z non turbo auto with 225,000 kms. Its gettin close to a engine rebuild or to get a reconditioned 1? Which wud be better and how much?

    Depends on what your wanting to do? are you wanting to keep it non turbo? or turbo? are you keeping the zed fo life :) what's your budget? how mechanically minded are you?

    I wana keep it non turbo and i dont no heaps about this stuff. My budget wud be about 4g 5max

    New Member not sure how to respond but here goes. We have a VG30E SOHC 12 Valve non turbo suits Z31 fully reconditioned Balanced Long motor (new parts from Sump to Rocker Covers) bargain price $1950 from Regoreganengines@bigpond.com

    Rego, if you read his question correctly it clearly states a " 1990 " model Zed which is a Z32 , not a Z31. The motor/s you are offering are not suitable for the Z32's.

    Zed19 if there isn't anything major wrong with your current engine you may just need a plenum pull with a major 200k service and get all the deletes done along with a water bypass.

    I still have my original Auspec with 310,000KM on the ODO and got a major service with all the deletes and water bypass and she is as strong as ! never let me down.

    Check the condition of the motor . Does it blow smoke ? Does it have good compression ? Are there oil leaks ?
    What exactly is wrong with the motor for you to think it needs reconditioning ?

    Work some of this out before you spend your money on possibly something you dont need .
