    Hi everyone,

Well the times come where my latest Zed needs to be on sold in replacement of a 4 door vehicle. Trying to get this sold ASAP as there are a few nice 4 doors on the market we wouldn't mind looking further into. But first need the coin.

Ive spent pretty much all my time owning this Zed, making it a solid reliable vehicle. Some of you may remember all the woes i had shortly into my ownership of this Zed. Its only now that im enjoying it

But now it has to go to a new home. Luckily we still have a second Zed :p

    To the important stuff.

    - Dent on front drivers guard, from replacement engine install, no scratches/cracks/chips, just a dent (will be fixed prior to sale)
    - Aerial does not go up, i think this is due to the previous owners work at installing the headunit. Hasn't bothered me as i listen to the USB music. System does sound very good.

    - Replacement engine fitted. Had approx 120xxx KM and had 100xxx service completed prior to my ownership. Before i installed this engine i replaced (again) the Timing Belt, Water pump, Thermostat, replaced all fuel and most vacuum hoses, exhaust gaskets, along with all other important jobs prior to engine install, mainly for good faith and so i have my own records. All parts were purchased from Caz and Nissan.

Reason behind engine swap, was 3 - 4 months after ownership the engine decided to leak oil into the cooling system, but not water into the oil. I went around in circles repairing busted hoses and faulty parts and eventually gave up on that engine, and hence the replacement. Im lead to believe it was a head gasket. Unfortunately i didn't have a replacement clean radiator at the time of installation, so the rad that had the oil mixed through it was sent away to get reverse flushed, however this process didn't quiet get all the oil out, so currently im still back flushing the system to get the remaining traces of oil out of the system. This is in aid to prevent the clean radiator from getting dirty. Have perfect running temps currently and runs cool all day.

I apologize for the poor picture quality, currently we're having some shitty weather/rain and its getting dark soon after i finish work. When good weather returns ill wash it and take some high quality pictures.

Car is Roadworthy, and is currently Registered. Passed SA Regency checks perfectly when i brought it over from Melbourne.

Thanks everyone, aiming for a quick sale. :zlove:

Lol. A 4 Door vehicle has been on the books for a long while. And ideally we probably should have got that before i bought another Zed, BUT, i missed not driving/owning one.

So in retrospect, I saved this Zed from them pesky :p Melbournites and have spent my whole time owning it, fixing it up and making it a reliable car. But now it must go in aid of that 4 door car, and ideally now, while our house is still getting built. Otherwise, we'll have no money left, heh.

And a BMW aint that bad...sorta...they sound ok off tap. And are generally reliable. We looked at the R34 4 Doors but they're just a tad out of the money we're happy to spend. And the suby is just another Jap car that i see have nothing critically wrong with them.

Gotta have a sensible, larger car somewhere along the lines... you have a 4 door ute after all... :D

And yes i know its a Auto NA, but what i paid for it and how much ive spent on it making it a reliable car, for someone to come swoop in and grab it. I think its justifiable... They always say a cheap Zed is a money pit. And this sorta has been. But now its a good vehicle so it should be worthy of a higher tag.

    Anyways, home time.

Just wanting to warn you on the Bimmers. Ive owned (stupidly) a few E36's (I shoulda learned the first time but I didnt) and they are beer goggle cars (you know, ya get drunk, chick looks hot, you take her home, regret it the next day when you see what she really is)

They are expensive to maintain, even when you can do the work yourself.

Here are a few of the reasons.

1: Replacing a motor if needed (common) costs you a kidney.
2: Do a compression test on any bmw you buy, the test will speak for itself.
3: All parts are 3x (at least) of any other equivalent car part)
4: Even when you can do the work yourself you are restricted because you need "bmw special tool number ###### blah whatever" to actually do the job.

I know I dont know you but I am pleading with you not to buy an E36.

When you buy a Zed, you spend money fixing it, every time. But one can mostly do the work themselves are the parts are relatively cheap.

Same goes for the E36 but the AMOUNT of money you spend is ridiculous and for any of the major stuff you cant do the work yourself without these "specialist" tools.

    . As a multiple ex-owner, please believe me . . . I'm trying to help.

Seriously, I would own a BOMBodore before even THINKING about another E36. At least with a BOMBodore you can do the work yourself and the parts are common and cheap.

    Peace :)

Thanks samuraigecko, im hearing more and more negative things about these vehicles.

    And i beleive every word.

I find it funny how many special tools there are for such simple jobs. Ive joined a few bimmer forums and read all the different issues contained within these models.

I like the beer goggle comment heh. Makes sence though.

Maybe the RX subaru isnt all that bad after all.

    Cheers.

Yeah I was going to pipe up at some stage as well.

Mate of mine had the motor on his side mirror assy burn out.
Went to buy a new motor.
BMW guy said "Can't sell you just the motor, you have to buy a whole new side mirror."
Then proceeded to knowingly ask him "First time BMW owner?"

    Yeah. Shysters.

there was a nice e46 fs, cheap, but lots of kms. doctor owned it...

but the e36 is something i like.

maybe stick to the jap cars. subie rx my98-01.

    But back on track!!!

    FS is my zed.

Tell your friends and your mother, as i would like it sold asap.

Engine running brilliantly. Yes its an auto, but some things have to be easy in life.

Dont get me wrong, the E36, especially in a 4 door, is a sexy car.
I just hate every other aspect of them, mechanical, electrical, etc . . .

The Sooby may be the way to go . . . . I would definitely own a sooby before even considering owning an E36 again. In fact, I would buy an old beetle before owning an E36 again.

    LOLL

    pEACE :)
