Hey there, Does anyone know of a good reliable insurance provider for 300zx tt's? Im having a bit of trouble trying to find an insurer, and i dont wanna take my baby out on the road without insurance :bash: Thanks
Try Vigil if you are over 26, or Famous Insurance if not... When I lost my lisence a while ago I really struggled to find coverage aswell once I got it back, both of these guys covered me. I had to recently switch to Famous though because Vigil changed their minimum age for modified class cars to 26. I have nothing bad to say about either though...
I am with NRMA and I'm 21. They didn't have a problem with my license suspension (most probably because the courts gave it back to me) but they just added on an extra excess for if I have to make a claim which was called a special drivers excess or something. But I was told next review it could be gone, which means about mid next year when I pay for renewal of my insurance.
Shannons have always been good to me. I had my first Z stolen after only owning it for a year... they paid out straight away, no fuss. So when I bought my new one, I went straight back to them.
I did my 300zx with Justcars. Your doing the right thing by not taking it on teh road without insurance. I had to make a claim of about $6000 worth of damage to my car alone, in just a week after buying it. So yea, try justcars, if you havent already. Their site is: www.justcarinsurance.com.au
do just cars only insure for purchase price,i couldnt see an agreed value with the modifications you have added yourself ???
just car are the worst insurance company. they might insure you, at what you may think is a cheap rate, but check out the all the hidden crap they hide. like for example what they insure you for floods ect . im currently dealin with them cause one of the clients hit me, and its like going through hell and back. Be warned!
How old are you. For 25+ I would recommend Lumley's. Try search as there have been a few topics latley.
Hmmmm, not always easy. I was with Just Cars, but as the car gets older the value goes down, insurance cost goes up and they wanted to add an extra $600 excess that wasn't there last year! :lame: Geoff at prestigemotorsport has a good list to get you started: http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modules/wffaq/article.php?t=35
hi, Im 18, and having trouble finding anyone that will even look at me :-( Is there anyone in this world that will insure an 18 year old girl with a twin turbo?:bash: I dont care how much it costs lol
i would highly doubt it,it always pays to investigate insurance before buying the car i thought you couldnt drive a t/t at 18 now with the new laws ??????
yeah that applys in other states, but not in SA. my mum will be driving it most of the time, but i will be taking it out on weekends etc. Still, no one will insure me driving it that i know of, and i need to be able to drive it since its only me and my mum that live here. :bash:
just car insurrance they r a part of aami insurance. im under 25 and its my second year insurance in australia, cost me $2000 for the comprehensive or $600 for third part + theft and incendie
bbbaaaahhh good call. Wifes been chasing ins companies for me today. LOL she said "all was going well with RAC until I mentioned 2x T28 turbos" haha. I was with HBF with the 180SX on an AGREED VALUE, but for some reason, they didn't even give her the option today for the 300ZX and said "we'll only insure it up to $8,5K because its a 1989" **** that. Book price means jack shit.
Justcar or Lumleys are the only 2 ive experience with. Lumleys (under the brand name Torque) insured me for about 1200 and paid out when I made a claim. Dont ever expect them to repair your car tho so get 1st right of salvage. They wouldnt re-insure me so ive now gone Justcars (which is actually AAMI. A bit more expensive but they kept my no claims and ignored my crash. Cost $2000 with large theft excess tho. oh and im in Bankstown Sydney where theres a huge garage/warehouse all painted up in thier colours & logos its always nice to know theyre not just an indian call center and a fat-cat financier. mine is an 89 TT auto with the usual upgrades, nothing far from stock.
RAC lolz haha got home and got the FULL story on what RAC said to my wife. Firstly, ive had nothing but GOOD stuff from RAC on house ins and breakdown recovery service. My wife said they were by far the most helpfull compnay she phoned today too. But i had to laugh when she told me the lady explained "We would insure a TURBO, but not a TWIN TURBO as that's an obviouse performance enhancing upgrade" ok..... hands up who brought a factory single turbo 300ZX???? people????? lol
