I will fix it while I have it in pieces, wow I love your Z31's they look awesome, that makes me want to rip off my skirting and paint it all. The skirting doesn't suit it. They look so clean and crisp. Mine just looks crispy.

Ah so yours is a Series 1 then I take it? If so then it's an '86 not an '87...

Rego doesn't mean alot, they always get it wrong. My '89 is a Z32 so transport reckons...

What does the back look like? If it looks like this then it's an S1 and it's an '86...

reading all those posts makes me miss mine. dont warry newbie thats how i bought mine, cept i created front end damage.

Injectors werent too expensive to fix, though the mechanic did make the mistake of quoting me before repairing and buying parts :D.

Even with 6 -7psi they can knock the socks off any standard skyline.

I ended up selling it for 2g only because every time i fixed 1 rust hole i would find another 10 - and only earning 300 a week didnt help the situation.

Tail lights look the same, although mine has a funny spoiler part on the back, and my windscreen wiper is down, and looks a bit different.

It's an '86 Series I then, that explains the price you got it for. Only 200 Series II's were ever released in Australia, becoming very hard to find now in good condition.

Lol I feel ya man, I really do.

Hence why my Z31 is still listed for sale in the z f/s section.

A lack of dough is something you DONT want when owning a Z. Oh well, another 6 months of training and I'm fully qualified aka fully paid ;)

Anyway, I might go along on that cruise comin up on the 20th, bring my cuz with me to film. Finally....a Z cruise at last ;)

Lets hope I dont fall apart on the highway :p   :(

(addicted to emoticons hehehe :p )

Yep, '86 turbo! The first and only year we got the Series I turbo, in 87' they changed to the Series II front and back end... You can remove the side bits if you want, Series II's never came with them in the first place I didn't remove them.

The back is obviously different, but the whole front end is rounder and a bit more refined. The fenders too are rolled wider without defined flares anymore on the II's...

Ahh awesome, off with the side bits then!! haha, thanks for that, ordering parts will be easier knowing its a 86 rather than a 87.

The only real downside to being a Series I is that it doesn't have the W-Series VG30ET motor. The only real differences being about 5hp in stock form and better oil/coolant passages and a few other small tweaks. Nothing huge, just slightly optimized.
