i am buying my new rims at the end of this month, i have chosen 'Zenetti' (brand) Five (model)......going on my red 2 seat NA

i at this stage intend on getting 19X8.0 on the front and 19X9.5 on the back...............although after reading alot of posts on here it seems that alot of people are happy with 18s ?????? do people think 19's is going to far or should i go for it ???????

below is the URL if you want to check out the rims....

Depends on the use of the car

If it's an everyday driver on average roads, you'll be finding every bump on the road on your drive to work on the 19's. If it's just a weekend car for cruising and you want the bling, go the 19's. Personally, I'm really happy with my 17's and wouldn't go above that, but mine is a daily driver that does over 20 000km per year.

You also have to consider the ongoing cost of tyres etc, especially if it is lowered and you haven't installed adjustable camber arms.

    go 18's

I have to agree with the other guys personal preference ;)
I myself have just gone down your path over the last week,in my opinion you may get away with 19's on a 2+2 but on a 2 seater i reckon it looks plainly stupid(way to big for a short body) and a very uncomfortable ride .As MrG said dont forget the cost of the tyres and also youll need to get adjustable arms front and back or say goodbye to expensive tyres real quick.
In the end you must do what you prefer.i have just put 265 on mine on a 9 inch rim and i reckon that makes it look great anything bigger and its overkill, but others may and will disagree, good luck with it :) :zlove:

thanks heaps for your comment............i think I'm leaning back towards 18s............much more practical especially on the crap roads in wagga wagga

    18" were the sh!t in the 80's...

19" were the sh!t in the 90's, 20" are the sh!t in the 20th century. I wouldn't put anything smaller than 19" on, the Z is a big chassis (with big guards) and you want to keep her looking modern right?

I do not take responsibility for my views, as it's 1.30am & I have been drinking :D

At the end of the day , SIZE MATTERS

I agree, I have 19s and polybushes all round and the ride is not that bad.

We have shite roads in the UK with pot holes everywhere and country roads the same width as some of your dirt tracks and trucks use them too, so I know what a bumpy ride is.

19s look alot better than 18s and the ride is not much different.

I'm with you Mr G. My Zed just has the standard wheels at the moment and a new set of Nexens. My last car had 18" wheels on it.. 35 and 40 profiles and to be honest apart from the looks the function was sh*thouse. Being so low profile you always have to park by the mirrors as the first pt contact is the rim. And with less tyre the ride was approaching harsh and no discernible improvement in handling. And for the price of 1.5 18" tyres you can have a whole set of 16"

Give me a 6 speed ZF auto gearbox.. and 16" wheels.. for my money. No bling but practical.

I have 19" on my Zed and think they are great and the ride is just fine:D

LOL, well backing up the last for odd posts. Im on 19" deep dish and for a Z I wouldnt go anything less. The unfortunate thing about Z's is they are very easy to make look crappy. Patence and good taste will be the way, just dont buy coz you have the money there and then. Your call man, I heard a couple of weeks ago someone saying light weigh rims and although I dont agree, I can definatly see the threoy behind there thoughts.
At the end of the day it is your call. But from a perspective of a owner, nothing less then 19".
    Good luck pal.

Go 19's for sure mate... Bigger the better without going too stupid! You do want to have money for tyres!

Hell, I was driving around in Clara's Z the other week rolling on 20" Lexani's... there was bugger all difference between them and some 18's on a few other Z's i've driven.

    Same as everyone else

    Do what you want mate

I have 20's and can lower the car down hard with the coilovers for that really filled guard look but cant steer very well. More for the show look than practicality.

I have sets of 18's for track and street and then the triple chromed 20's for the bling effect, However a daily driver on 20's is going to set you back some bread for tyres. My Toyo Proxus 4's cost $430 a tyre in 225/30/20 so yeah deep pockets needed for a daily driver.

18's are pretty much the norm and still legal fitment for the zed, if running 19's or 20's be prepared for the old boys in blue potentially giving you a hard time. The rest is personal preference I have seen 22's on a zed rear before.

Yes bigger rims on a 2 seater does look a little funny IMO

    Good luck with the choice

    Weight?

Guess no one cares about weight? If that is the case, yeah go and get yourself some heavy ass 20" rims. Actually care about practicallity as well as looks, get some lightweight 17" racing wheels. My rays volk racing rims are actually lighter than the stock rims  and look good too.

On a side note, I actually like the chromies that you are thinking of.

    Nice Rims ....

I love your choice of rims ....they will look hot!

I have 18's but will go 19s eventually .... get the widest tyres you can. Nothing looks better than a Zx low with full guards and wide tires!:D

Aslong as you dont mind the extra weight, your speedo being inaccurate and acceleration to suffer some then they're fine...

ha ha you make 19s seem less appealing..............................i think i will get the same rims im looking at but back down to 18s in a wide pack (deep dish on the back) bit more practical and will save some coin...........thanks MR G! i hadnt thought about adjustable camber arms and how much quicker the bigger size tyres will wear.......................ill be make sure i post some pics up hopefully in about a month when the rims are the country...............ADAM300:zlove:
