hey guys i just got my 100 k kit and a set of 19 inch rims today!!!!! i need to know are the 19's going to fit.......they have low profiles on them and the tread is 235..............does n e one else have them one their Z??? and if so did u have to do anything for them to fit fine............i am worried they will not fit and cost me a shit load to get them to fit.......thanks
Hi I had 19s, They were 19x8 inch rims 245/35 tyres, they did fit but they must have been off another car, because the offset was wrong and they had spacers to clear the calipers at the front. Yeah the offset is 300mm I believe.
mate only 1 way 2 find out dude, if youve got teh rims go wack em on and c if they fit.who knows u may get lucky and they will fit in there snuggly
see, you did it backwards... first you check they fit, then you buy em! not the other way round while tyre sizes will make a difference its widths & offsets you really need to be looking at so get that worked out. offset is the distance from the centre line of the rim to the back face of where it bolts to the hub. silly question but you checked the PCD was 5x114.3 before you stumped up the cash yeah??? because nothing else will fit... if they can fit on a commodore or bmw than im afraid your outta luck. cheers, tim
yeah the rims were a gift............so thats why i am stressing if they will fit............i will just have to wait and see i guess i am going to get the bob jane to put them on just to make sure everything is all good...........thanks
Thats a damn fine diagram there. Basically gonna say the same but also add the point that the wheel design may not clear the front brake calipers whell design to wheel design in same offset. I tried 3 different sets of 20's for my car before I got something that was driveable and didnt scrub anywhere. Tried 45, 38 and now 35 offset, funny thing is though same rims in 18 inch and same offset of 35mm hit my front calipers, go figure. So offset first, size second then tyre size, larger width tyres with bigger wheels doesnt usually work too well on the zed I have 225's on 9 inch rims for that ricer look. Good luck with the fitment
yeah i have found out when they were ordered they were ordered to the specs of the z32 so i should be all good...........i am not worried about the offsets only the size of the rims but if people have had 20's on i should be ok
u should be worried about offset!!! if they are the wrong offset...they will either stickout to far, or rub on your suspension!! thats if they fit! ryan
Mate did you read my post OFFSET IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT sorry had to shout !! wrong offset and wheels may not fit or scrub something they shouldnt. IF they are around 35 to 40 you should be okay but outside this you may have issues.
a gift?........... you got 19" rims as a gift? man these girlfriend/parents/grandparents/mate's must be the best ever!!
second Jaybo's comment.... i want a gift like that second ZX2NV as well... thats a very useful diagram lidz. thanks, i now know how the offset works
yeah every one chipped in.........parents g/f brother......they know how hard i have been trying to pay off the car and get shit done as i am broke most of the time coz i am at uni...........yeah the offset is 35 and they are only 8.5 wide so i am thinking they are going to fit............well they are going to be put on this weekend at bob jane just to make sure it is all done right..........thanks for the help guys
pfff...thats a load of barnacles. Stick the widest damn tyre that you can on I say. 295/30/18 rear 255/35/18 front (will try squeeze 265's on if I get the opportunity)
Was talking with the larger rims like 19's and 20's. My car setup at street height the actual rims sit up in the rear wheel wells so much so that you cant see the top of the tyre only the rim (20's) so if using a wider tyre like I tried you get consistent rubbing etc. 18's are fine my track rims have 275 tyres on the rear and work well but had to remove the fuel filler protective metal casing on the left hand side rear to prevent rubbing due to staggered wheel offset.
Well then, we've just discovered that 19" and above just arn't effective. If going to 19" reduces your ability to slip on some fat rubber then IMHO it has a detrimental effect on the vehicle. COME ON!! The zed has a phat ass, and needs some phat tyres!!! on the other hand, runing 295's have a detrimental effect on your wallets thickness.
You could probably mess around with the offsets and get some deep dish wheels or have the car ride higher to avoid the issues. Mine is just setup for the full bling show effect. Low and filled out guards and you dont see too much of the rear tyres anyway so doesnt bother me too much but having said that my track rims with the 275 rears look mighty good from behind the car. The other option would be too pump the guards but didnt want to alter the smooth lines of the car.
