There are some vehicles still available

Those with import approval already and some with approval pending.

Prestige Motor Sports are showing 12 300ZX available as of this morning. But you'd need to be quick:thumbsup:

Just take "BigCol" and his Zed for example

    Although not for sale.

The day Col & his Zed see a pod filter will be the day all the forum members donate $$$ to buy one and install it for him. :p

    Cheers Buddy

    Was thinking about this

and it may be that my 2+2 TT Z is possibly the last to be registered in WA after this change unless more than one was on the same boat as mine :unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure:

Japanese cars have had emission controls

since 1978 that are better than todays Falcodores etc.

Japan is a small country with a huge population and have been really proactive in the area of pollution control for decades.

Could it be that a politician is lying when it comes to banning 15 year imports on the grounds of inferior emission standards??

    Excuse me for my scepticism:LOL:

  7. BigCol

    BigCol That's what she said...

Damn straight - as nissan intended!:thumbsup::LOL:

  8. red32

    red32 You talkin' to me?

Cliff! Shame on you! Politicians lying?

Altering the facts to suit their purpose? Yes, all the time.
Stretching the truth across the party platform? Yes.
    Lying? Never!
The average (aren't they all?) poli couldn't lie straight in bed.
Don't they speak so clearly with all those pimples on their tongues?

    Cheers,
    Doug

    t necessarily .....

It could be that there are '90 models already purchased, waiting to turn 15 so that they can be imported.

    cheers,

    Peter

    conspiracy theory

Mabee holden and ford are getting peved that they are loosing the younger market share to imports cause that are sweeter, have better technology, cheeper then a new comodore/falcon not to mention that it drives like a dream and so much nicer that the old comoodore and falcon.

I mean look at the touring cars now. Get beaten a few times by a non V8 and they change the racing rules.

Through a few $$ into a political campain and call in a favor.

Hmm i think its too late and i have been watching the wrong movies on TV

Makes me wonder how they snuck in my 93Z then?

"Conspiracy Theory" does have some validity, but......

picking-up the Newspapers, or turning on the TV News, will get you a constant flow of horror stories about people being killed(or maimed)on our roads. In most cases accidents/street-races are featured prominently, and many of the vehicles are "low volume imports" (Skylines, Supra's, Silvia's etc.) It doesn't take much to convince those in power, that they have "found the answer" for all of our problems.

    Quite right Lloyd

and killing the 15 year rule will do nothing to stop the flow of Skylines as they are about the only vehicle that be complied at the moment by a RAWs workshop under the SEVS scheme.

Your car Tezza would have been complied

before they brought in the SEVS scheme 2 years ago.

Unless more compliance plates are made available for a greater variety of vehicle models I fear that the 300zx, MR2, MX5, RX7 and so on will be lost to us forever.

Aggree with Lloyd, the media punch out the images of a few

knobs and we all pay for it. Oh well Skylines will become like HYUNDAI's just like WRX's have. Anyone looked at the car yard prices on Zeds since this happened. The prices is now up a few G's in places already. I'm sorry but that bought a smile over my face and I dont to feel too sorry for those who dont have a Zed yet.

I guess if it wasn't for the 15 year rule and a reasonable price, some advice from some Z owners and specialists I never would have bought a Zee,
You can see where some people get into greif with a Zee, either Neglect from themselves or previous owners from not wanting to spend the bucks, or taking it to a so called 'Mechanic' that didn't know what he was tampering with,
I didn't buy my Zee for an investment, there are better things to invest in,
I look at it as a whole lotta car for the money,
sheesh Commodore only got quad cams and variable valve timing what 5 months ago??? and the blue oval fans that go on about the 4lt turbo thingy making bulk horsepower, soon go quiet when u remind them what the R32 GTR did in '89.. ha ha
but I'm not biased, lots of things have their good points... sheesh, my '99 Harley was 30 years old when it was made.. but I Love riding that as well,
I guess if a workshop applies to bring them in under the raws deal, some will still come in, a little more money for compliance but still come in....

...cheers from the New Zee owner, not quite licenced, but well on it's way..

    I agree Lloyd, also

regardless how responsibly 300ZX owners are on the roads they will still be some tarring from the Silvias, Skylines etc. ... and it doesn't do us any good when some fella launches his Z through a second floor factory window or some lass gets huge speeing fines and proclaims that she's not going to change her ways.

Actually, and to risk some flaming, I think both of these occurred in Melbourne. Hi Blipman, WYKKED and RedZedMikey (he says somewhat tentatively). Think I'll go quietly now.

    cheers,

    Peter
