    g'day,
well i took my old system out, and a few days later decided to put a new one in.
this is a single 12" setup, with one amp running the sub and splits up front. no rear speakers -small cabin, not necessary.
i've moulded the box and amp rack to the contours of the boot, i've maintained about 75% of my boot space, can easily put in targas. its all covered in vinyl so is durable and i can move one centre panel to access my spare tyre, or move another panel to access tool kit.
    here's some pics:

unscrew the panel above for access to spare, or the one on the right to get to tools. the zed logo is a raised logo!!

vinyl on lower part of sub box came unstuck when i trimmed it and put the sub in. job for next weekend!
let us know what you think. was considering making a mould if enough people were interested.
its nice and easy to install (takes a few minutes to pull out or put in), sounds awesome and i've managed to keep most of my boot space.
also the amp rack is on an angle, if i put the rear seat down, there's a pocket in there, where i keep my jump leads and some soft targa bags i got made up (thanks nan!).
    cheers.

Nice work man I like it. A lot!

I'm definately interested. As far as I know theres no readily available sub boxes for a 2+2, I hope theres enough interest for you to mold it and sell em.

Maybe post an EOI in the GB section? (that way it wont get buried beneth new posts as quick as it will here)

    cool

been thinking about leaving out my spare and just carrying a can of that inflator goo stuff to save on weight. The only prob is the spare prevents that flimsy board from caving in, does your center grey panel replace that board? Also what is its purpose? just something different to carpet?

    SWEET

    that looks so nice dude.
    congrats on the neatness.
It looks like you still have heaps of usable boot space. If you got a mould together i think you would have yourself a little business venture right there.

    cheers for the replies

MikeH, there is a spare tyre still there, but if i take it out the board isn't flimsy. i put a couple of lengths of mdf along the bottom to make it more rigid. i didn't want it to be flexible etc., as things like dive tanks and wakeboards will be put in there, so i want it to be able to survive under weight.
i did vinyl instead of carpet as i've done the rest of my interior in vinyl with the same colour so it follows through, but also its durable and i put some wet gear in there sometimes, so its all durable.
    cheers.

may post some more pics up of the actual build up.

    Re: Nice!

very nice, wish you did this a month or 2 ago. I just put in my 10" not long ago. Spent like 2 weeks stuffing around to get it completely finished, including my cardboard prototype.

congratulations on a job well done!

    Well Done

I am in the process of putting in a new car audio system myself, Iam looking at putting in a sub or two but will leave it to the professional to install to what they think is best overall for boot space, Targas, sound etc.

    Well done anyway
