Is putting 100w globes in the z low beams a recipe for disaster?? some people seem to get away with it, and others blow their globes within a few hours.
Has anyone had trouble with things melting?
    Interested in hearing your thoughts:thumbsup:

And in the tech section, method 2 about fitting 100w globes, are they just a standard h3 100w?
any recomendations on what brand to use?
    Cheers

I've been using 100W low beams for over 6 years ...>>

I went to an auto sparkie because it was almost impossible to buy H3C globes in those days. How showed me the headlight mod 1 and fitted 100W globes. He said there was no problem running 100W globes.

Only time I had problems (globes blowing after a few months) was when I was using the cheaper pseudo Xenon globes.

If your head light lens is dirty, then the globes will also run hotter.

    I have blown 1...

but i think it was due to going into a pot-hole, i just bought the el-cheapos and they work great. Theres no problem with running them. Just go to supercheap and get some H3 12v 100watt globes.

    Max:thumbsup:

    Similar story for me.....>>

Although after having my first set of cheap "xenon" globes last over 4 years (it was my car used for the type 1 tech article) I switched to the type two method and just buy cheap globes. I always carry a spare in the glove box because I do a lot of shift work so drive a lot at night.
