Check if there is a 100K Service sticker on the timing belt cover. If there is, it MIGHT have had this service carried out. If it hasn't got a sticker, it would be prudent to suspect that the service has not been done.
Go to the Tech Section on this forum for a complete list of what is involved.
If your car is anywhere near 100K, it would be advisable to do this service, as to not do so, could cost you several thousand dollars in repairs(if and when the timing belt snaps).

This is what should be done.

If you think you need your timing belt changed you should buy this kit, even if you can't do it yourself get the kit and give it to your mechanic to do. All these things should be done by 100k.
    Cheers

I doubt it would have been done as a seller would sure mention it. If in doubt do it for piece of mind. Andrew.

How many K's are you at

now? If you have a J-spec zed alot of people think that if you have low K's under 100k for exmple that the odometer on the car has most likely been wound back. If that is the case then I'd be doing the 100k service now. For example, when my brother bought his zed it had around 65k or so on the clock. The car has always sounded like it had done more to me, like it was more worn out,(been thrashed also) running louder. So not being sure how many k's it had done for sure, done the 100k service at around 85k, plus had a leaking water pump so had too anyway. When we took the timing covers off the belt had already been changed, it wasnt the factory nissan one. The previous owner bought it from the importer so it had been changed in japan before hand. So obviously it had done more than 100k, even before it landed in the country. Apoligise for the long rant but like others have said do yourself a favour and do the 100k service. Its not cheap but if you do it yourself you can save around a thou. Anyway good luck with it :zlove:

the k-zed kit, plus about 7-8 hours work by a

qualified zed mechanic to do the full install should cost around $1400-1500 all up ...:zlove: :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: :zlove:
