Just trying to work out if my j-spec might have had a 100k service or not. Where do they put the 100k service sticker if its done, and/or any other tell tale signs that it has been done, (without trying to just judge by looking at the water pump/timing belt)

    Cheers

Sticker is usually stuck on top of the timing belt covers.

If there's no sticker - play it safe and do the service. Chances are your speedo has been wound back and it's overdue.

    100K Specific?

Just wondering, I have that sticker on mine, but it has been ripped in one part. I was just wondering if anyone knew if that sticker is 100K specific as in:

My Sticker shows that a service was done at 51,199K's. Could these stickers be also used ofr the 50k service, or is the exact one in the picture used your 100k service ONLY?

    Thanks

    and thanks for the Pic!

    wouldn't imagine they would

It's specifically a 100,000k service sticker. It should mean that the 100,000k service was done by a Nissan dealer.

My 100,000k service was done almost 25,000ks early but the car was also nearly 14 years old. Something I was reading said your 100,000k service should be done every 100,000ks or 2 years, whatever comes first. So a 14 year old car that has only done 50,000ks is still way overdue for its 100,000k service.

    Re Japanese service

Do they change the idler pullys and the tensioner, they do the belt and waterpump. Maybe run a pole to see which parts fail the most Belt, tensioner .idler pullys.

A poll on this may be inconclusive....From what I've heard the

components other than the belt and tensioner are mainly changed at this time as a precautionary measure because it's such a b*tch to get at them if they do go between 100k services.
