    Hi

How much does it cost for the 100K service? What is done in it?
Do we have to do the 100K service every 100000kms.??
I have come across...plenum pull...donno what it is? Even do we have to do it every 100000kms??

Also what is the life of Zed engines if driven carefully(TT or NA)...As they are 3 litre engines...should run for 300000kms or 400000kms before they die..??

I am trying to learn about ZEDS and their maintenance..planning on buying one in a month's time....very newbie to this..any info will be much appreciated...

read through the tech section, a full 100,000k service will cost you about $2,000 to do everything, thats with top quality oils, as for the life of a motor, it all depends on servicing and how it is maintained and how you drive

    red32 You talkin' to me?

100K service will cost you at least 1G (probably a bit more, depending on whether you can do it yourself, and/or what your mechanic charges/hour).
Do a search in the tech section to find out what is done. . . it's fairly comprehensive (timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, etc). As the name suggests, it needs to be done EVERY 100,000km . . . it's also cheaper than replacing/rebuilding a motor . . . and is in addition to the normal 5000km servicing.

Proper servicing will allow your Zed engine to go "forever" . . . no different to any other cars' engine. RedZedMikey has his engine over 300,000km (recently had some turbo problems) with proper servicing, and it hasn't had an easy life, either! Engine life has nothing to do with size . . . it's all to do with regular servicing.

Oh...1G to 2.5G...hmm...coz I was wondering what to offer a zed with close to 100Kms mark and if the 100Kms service is not been done....

What is a plenum pull? why are everyone so concerned about it..when buying a zed...

i wopuld say always factor in the 100k service unless previous owner has done it recently because speedos in zeds cannot be trusted. Mine has 80k on the clock but when a zed expert looked at it (zed4life) said it was probably aroudn 140k-160k (which is still extremely low considering ts age). as soon as i get the money (which could sitll be a couple of months off now with my recent set back) im gonna do mine

    : ) AMEC infomercial warning :)

we do the 100K service including parts and labour for $1450. the parts are genuine Nissan OEM parts which include:

    - timing belt and tensioner assembly
    - water pump
    - idler pulley
    - thermostat
    - cam seals
    - all drive belts
    - front coolant bypass hoses

a "plenum pull" or "intake manifold pull" is removal of the intake manifold, usually done to perform an under plenum coolant hose bypass operation. the job takes several hours and we charge $850 for a "pull". so at the same time to avoid doing it a second time, you get your injectors serviced, replace the injector connectors and coolant temp sensor and replace the rocker cover gaskets to prevent future oil leaks. getting this done at AMEC would cost $1375.

    Good price ... considering ...

100k/200k parts = 23 components @ ~$750 and labour to install takes around 8 hrs.

AMEC - Cooparoo & Gavin Wood Autotech - Labrador, are the only 2 workshops in QLD I know of who can perform the service competently and at this price.
