Hey, Who would you recommend to do a 100k km service and clutch replacement on your car.....in Perth? I've just gotten a quote from 'top racing' for $2600...im waiting for them to email me on what the full 100k km service includes..... =/ Also does anyone have any good or bad experiences with 'top racing' ? Or where else i should look at getting a quote from?
I hope that 2600 is including parts. I've never heard of "top racing" and you really want to stick to a known zed mechanic. North of the river there is Precise automotive and suspension. I think they are good although semi expensive and possibly the worst communicators on earth. South of the river I'm sure Miksta or someone will be able to fill you in. Personally I would be would getting the 100kk service kit from forum member K-zed, and the clutch from someone like Caz1 (PM her) or UAS (www.300zx.com.au) and then paying a shop to do the labor. Re: the heavy duty clutch.. I made a couple of calls, first quote from ABS, a place I already thought was a rip off but what the hell, they told me $1550 installed for a streetable clutch a notch above stock.. Then called Auto Clutch in Osborne Park (recommended by Bosco here), same deal for $550, I'm probably gonna go there tomorrow and get some more info, including whether I really need a new clutch.
clutch the clutch in the deal is a Excedy Heavy Duty Clutch. And yes the 2600 is parts + labour. and yes....im still waiting on that damn list.... i think ill go and bug them again

This price depends on if you have a TT or NA and if you require an OEM style clutch or a performance upgrade. Our 100,000km service parts include the following; ? Gates Timing Belt ? 3 x Gates Drive Belts ? Nissan OEM Auto Tensioner ? 2x Idler Pulleys ? Nissan OEM Crank Sprocket ? 2x Nissan OEM Crank Sprocket Spacers ? 5x Nissan OEM Crank and Cam Seals ? 2x Nissan OEM VTC Seals ? 2x Nissan OEM VTC springs ? 2x Nissan OEM Coolant Bypass Hoses ? Nissan OEM Water Pump ? Nissan OEM Thermostat ? 6x NGK Platinum Spark Plugs Included in the 100,000km service is long life coolant, oil, oil filter and fuel filter. We also replace air filters with new OEM filters or clean and re-oil your existing aftermarket filter(s). We will also perform a boost leak test, compression test and DataScan Tune-up (Base idle adjustment, TPS adjustment, Cylinder test, etc). Please let us know if you are interested, we specialise in zeds so you know you are in good hands. Why don't you give Neil a call at killarney Autos[ 0439996764] has done a few of the members cars he will give you a quote for 100,000 service&clutch won't rip you of. Miksta had his clutch done there mine is in there getting a full engine rebuild at the moment
I was hoping Tom or Andrew would reply . I and many others can vouch for them as great guys that know their way around a zed, I know I'll definately be going to them when the time comes.. mmmm TT.
Yup what Tom said ^^^^^^^^^ He done my clutch and major service for a very very good price, he WONT rip you off. I wouldn't go to any other workshop in Perth, saying that the boys at PerthZperformance look ok..... lol

howdy.. no probs getting a 100kk done in 1 day.. shouldnt even take that long *knock wood* so long as nothing goes wrong.. theres always hiccups.. if you could drop it off early saturday morning one week.. even better friday night.. it would make it alot easier.. as any unforseens are hard to get your hands on after 12 on a saturday in sleepy lil perth off the top of my head id say around 1500 for a full 100kk from the list above.. its alot more of a service than anyone in perth will do for you.. idler pulleys, crankseal, cam seals etc are not usually done.. but while you have the whole front of the engine off its worth doing as its very labour intensive to just change one by itself later (few hundred bucks for a 10 dollar seal.. )
hi minivan cool, consider it a deal, i am coming up for the mandurah cruise, so i will talk to you guys then hopefully, drop off friday arvo or evening is fine for me, pick up sat evening. excellent, any extras that you guys think it needs by way of seals etc, go for it, a reliable engine is my aim, later down the track you might be interested in doing some performance work possibly? cheers
once we have 2 gt28r upgrades under the belt we will be offering it as a drive in drive out option.. everything is very up in the air at the moment.. all falling together nicely.. we werent actually going to do anything until both cars were done (6 weeks or so) but as we are waiting on parts at the moment.. we figured why not i dont have a car (well my BA work ute is hardly a car) i mean a Z.. so hopefully someone will let us ride shotgun for the cruise, toms in the same boat

i can get you an extreme clutch rated at 500hp(flywheel) for around $800 if you want to save some money,up to you sounds better than your quote anyways. i can also get you redline oils,gearbox oils and a light weight flywheel (chromoly/lightweight chromoly or aluminium) if any of that takes your fancy im in perth and will drop them of to you let me know if your interested
