Richard jpc300 going to drags tonight might beat us all. I don't go until next Wednesday night. Next race is low into the tens and with street tyres or slicks. My Street tyres, BF Goodrich Comp TA's just arrived, might keep the size and profile to myself at the moment, lets just say they are not 18's, will solve a lot of the traction probs.
guessing there won't be any attempts tonight if this weather continues. will try to make it if weather is good.
he he patience grasshopper clutch wont take very long but I think the 76mm throttle bodies are going to slow things a bit. I wouldnt get too excited for a couple of weeks yet.
Go Melbourne Weather Shame that, looks like it is up to me and the slot car. Not that I am competing or anything. I tried to rev up the Skyline boys today saying why is that there are no fast Skylines in Sydney as my car seems so fast in comparison, and the fast ones are interstate.
2 questions of interest 1) how much does your car wiegh now? and 2) are you finding you need to change into 5th or just hitting top of 4th with your higher ratio in the diff? Reason Im asking is that there are now new ring gears for the TT diff that give the same ratio as the NA diff while keeping the obvious strength of the TT one. Ive been considering this as it'l make the car a bit quicker but I get the feeling it'l mean changing to 5th in a quarter mile. Anyone got a link to those rpm/speed calculators?
bad news john!!! its pisssssssing down rain here maybe on sunday but it doesnt look good....im not happy and ps more power
thanks for that. That makes 127mph so pritty close to a gear change at 130mph end pass. Would make it if your rev limit was up a bit but youd have to be out of your max power band. Tough call on which would be better.
Nathan is it possible to find out where your getting the 76mm tb's from? I would be interested in that size. Thanks
its not hard for you to find out if you dig around because I havent made a big secret about it or anything. I'd prefer not to say "this is what Im doing" until its actually able to be done and works. Then I will share it. And if gains are noticeable will organise a group buy of them. Ive gone for 76mm as this seems to be the biggest in which you could hone out the rest of the intake plenum.
