hey guys, im in the process of doing 100 ks service and plenum pull, at the moment all good of course im just taking out the treoble will come when installing all in place againg, lol, anyway toke ma rail fuel out and notice that one of my injectors didnt have the black cap the other 5 have, is that gonna be any bad? i think it has been long time without coz the tip is black, anyway there it goes a picky so u guys get what i mean: http://img214.imageshack.us/f/20110108004.jpg thanks guys.
that cap was used to protect the pintle and is found on early injectors and some people have reported no issue with them missing but im sure you would be able to purchase one possibly coz, its cool to be safe
Don't sweat it. They really only protect the pintle while the injector is out of the fuel rail. Once it's in, there is nothing to harm it. You'll be perfectly fine putting it back in. In fact, if any of the remaining caps are cracked or in danger of falling off, feel free to break them off prior to reinstalling them in the car. Chances are, the one just broke off and fell into the lower plenum while driving. Being as brittle as it was, it would have just turned into nothing and gone out with the exhaust gases.
I jit thanks coz I have had some to drink and I know I want to. that aside my caps are all missing and I have no issues.
