ok so i get a smell of fuel from my car after a bit of a drive 15mins+ so im thinking replace the 02s? question is where can i purchase and for how much?
http://www.cazracing.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=33 smell of fuel? sounds like leaky injector?
it could be a few things, but firstly, are you getting normal fuel economy ie over 450km to a full tank?
first step .... check all fuel lines and associated clamps .. including those under the throttle cable cover/below battery/rear of plenum ..... took me yonks to finally eliminate my several fuel leaks ... all hose/clamp related ...as frustrating as all hell BUT dangerous not to rectify ...
Seconded... Most common source of fuel smells under the bonnet are loose fuel line clamps, mainly around regulator area at back of plenum. check these first by using your nose to localise the leak
follow up ... if you have not located the leaks by 18/19 october, the lads could help you at PEX'S tech day .. if you are attending same .... just a thought ....
no im not getting normal fuel economy, il check my fuel lines, what am i looking for cracks and stuff?
Yea, cracks, wet spots, or places where the smell of fuel is really strong, and also, still come to pex's day, meet me in mackay and well make a 2 car convoy on teh highway
i tried to locate the smell, seems to be coming from somewhere under the car itself near my back right hand wheel arch, couldnt actually smell anything in the engine bay.
