How far of a road does your zed need to reach 100km/h from standstill?

I got 2 seater Manual NA with 133rwkw. I reckon I can do it in around 100m.

My mate's integra did 6.7 to 100km/h. And according to my calculation he did it in about 103m. He's got around 135 fwkw. Which might translate to about 105rwkw and 1250kg ish 9 on the dyno. Similar power to weight to my zed (133rwkw, 1470kg)

This is from 16.5 1/4 mile time and 110km/h trap speed on the freeway. That would mean he's coasting at 110 for about 9.8 sec with no accleration. More or less. Equating to around 297m at cruise speed. Leaving 103m for the 0-100 run.

I had a look at Trayns 1/4 mile slip. He reach 100m mark in 6.2 sec, but not sure of the speed. 9.5 in 200m and finish at 14.7

I did 0-100km/h in 6.4 sec on the gtech. I think Trayns 0-100 time would be pretty similar as well.

How far does the Turbo zed need to reach 100km/h?

Keep in mind a human takes 10 secs to reach 100m, olympic athletes that is.

I just need some discussion on this since I got my GTECH. Everything is done legally at speed limit of course. The device also measures 100-0 braking force, but that's illegal and dangerous unless an emergency. And doing 1/4 mile run on the freeway is too dangerous and attract cops.

According to my Gtech - see images inside.

With my TT it looks like it takes about 85m.

I used to do athletics way back when, my PB for the 100m is 10.43 - would that class me as Olympic? :p

I just got my G-tech yesterday

and last night did a DYON run, got 275 RWHP but lots n lots of spinning.

and 0-100 in 6.0 flat , and if I put it on high boost it was 6.3 seconds because I get even more wheel spin. :(

I suck a launching and spun it a fair bit on my 6 second run and when it hit boost in first spun, into second spun still managed a 6.0 sec. High boost was just stupid spinning every where.
Half of second gear was just smoking it up.

    255 size tires aren't big enough!!! :)

    At least yours works

my gtech pro competetion gave results anywhere from 9 seconds to 20 odd seconds! (calibrated just like it said to). The unit was too heavy for the suction cup so kept pointing towards the floor! In the end I just had it as a rice factor for its flashyness mounted just above the mp3 player. Keep em out of the car on a hot summers day though! The gtech will literally fall apart! (because of the thin plastic which holds the screws inside breaking off).

I guess I could superglue it together again. Still works

    Wow, good info

    Thanks.

All the info I need. So it's possible to do 0-100 in around 100m (not including braking). I can see how the acceleration just diminish after the first 200m, although on Turbo zeds, it's less revealing.

10.43 is very fast for human. I did 10.6 before. But then I ballooned up to 83kg. I don't think I'd break 11.5 these days.

Looks Like BlackIce need better tyres. Say Michelin PS2? or Hankook Ventus K104? Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3?

Shifter, ever try wedging the rubber sucker between the sunvisor and the roof? My rubber won't even stick to the windscreen more than 2 minutes at a time. Until I wedge it in the sunvisor, I can't get proper reading and been doing 0-100 in 8 secs. Now it's 6.4, that's more like it.

Even my honda had 10.7 run and now down to 8.6.

Nah, my Gtech must just be funny

didn't matter where or how still it was mounted, how flat the road was. When comparing 2 gtechs at the same time, mine was always inconsistant and way off realism :(

    Bogging down vs spinning up

If I dump the clutch at 3000 rpm with silencer on, I get 2-3 secs of wheelspin, but if I don't, the car just bogs down for a couple of secs before going hard.

Without silencer, if I dump the clutch, I only get 1 sec of wheelspin and the car goes hard.

Would silencer make such a big difference? It revs harder to higher rpm when not on silencer and makes it harder to shift cause it gets beyond redline so fast.

    Actually G-Teching is illegal

    comes under

"organise/promote/take part in trial of vehicle's maximum speed/acceleration."

In ACT, which is a follow on from NSW and most states have similar or the same laws now.

Sad but true, I seriously hate these laws.

    I'm NZ, they're a little more reasonable

in terms of hooning around although they're clamping down now. They now have this so-called boyracer law.

My pet hate is people using that saying...

I guess craig lowndes is just a poor tradesman as well? Nothing to do with his equipment... or even mark webber, must be poor because he can't win races.

That saying just aint right, its true sometimes but you'd want to be pretty sure the person your bagging really is crap before you use it... because regardless of how good you are, unless you are in something competitive you aren't going to be able to do much unless you've at least got something to work with in the first place.

Talent can make up for a quite a bit sometimes, but not everything.

Did you notice my :p??? Obviously not!

I don't have to be pretty sure the person is crap before making my above comment because I wasn't serious. Obviously you can't comprehend smilies or you failed to see it.

hawkus gets my vote for most over-reacted post this year!

it was pretty clear Franz was joking - the " :p " should of made that pretty obvious surely.

Franz (and myself) have seen Blackice drive... Franz has even commented on his ability in a positive way - which is a pretty good compliment considering Franz is one of the top drivers at MC Motorsport and is also an advanced driving instructor.

"you'd want to be pretty sure the person your bagging really is crap before you use it..." - you'd want to be pretty sure the person your bagging is messing around or not before you make yourself look silly... espically since Franz knows Blackice in person, and im pretty sure Franz would outdrive you any day of the week...

lighten up people, zeds are ment to be fun....

    I wouldn't agree with that.

I've seen quite a few posts with massive over-reaction a lot worse than that, mixed in with quite a bit of speculation as well as just plain paranoia.

    As everyone does...

Ofcourse, I wasn't testing my vehicles "maximum" acceleration. I eased off the loud pedal a bit towards the end..... maybe.

    That's an old slip...

14.5 is the new one, you can find it on a Post by me topic: "It has been done". Think you need to go down to the track dude -
i've got a GTECH as well but so many variables can affect the time. Plus no-one argues with a timeslip. Tell us how you go.

    Got your timeslip dude

But doesnt say what's your 0-100 time? My tyres finally start to give after 10000km of wear. 3000 RPM launch skid the tyres, but about halfway, so I was like dut dut dut for the first few feet, between losing and gaining traction.
