What and WHAT?! NAs can NOT beat a 350z, I had a 2 seater NA 5spd, with half the interior stripped, including all the things in the boot (spare, jack, cargo cover, carpet, etc) and I lost to a 350z and lost noticeably. And since when are NAs quicker off the mark than a TT? A TT is like a full 2 seconds quicker from 0-100, so where in that spot is a NA quicker? 0-5? I'm not flaming, just being fair, as I've had both a NA and a TT as my daily drivers. -Kirill
Correct kbro. However I have beaten a few 350's, but I have a TT and am packing just over 240kw's thanks to 15+psi
Just race an imported one, when he reaches 180kmph and hits the speed limiter you'll beat him. I've been nose to nose with one before until such a time, then goodbye... No speed limiter for me, in your face rich boy. I held down 5th aswell just to certify the win. This was all done on a private road, naturally.
yeah sometimes I drag busses because they are speed limited to 100, and at 100kph I totally pass them!! my cars totally fast as!!! take that bus drivers!! :bash: and red turtle I think MikeZ32 is doing a group buy on clues, you might want to PM him about that.
Yeah and you can tell it was imported simply by looking at it too right? It fell flat on its face at 180kmph, it was too funny, so I guessed he hit his limiter. I bet he cried like a little bitch that day, I would of pulled on him in 5th anyway though...
lol i'm just saying, my little brothers pulsar could beat one too since its speed limited at 240kph...
Duh, that's the point because NA's are shit slow and it's the only chance they'll have and I smoked one still with stock fuel and turbo years ago and have done a ton of modifications since then.
Most of the haters in this thread don't seem to understand what the "north of WA" is like where u from mate? port hedland, karratha, broome? there's not many places in perth that like to deal with zeds, so u got no hope in those towns if your talented, then put in an LS1 then all of them can work on it
Long drive I am in hedland. A little over 1600 Kms from perth. I put it in to have the air cond repaired and did not get it back for 4 months, it works well now thou. it now has a leaking head gasket not game to try that. it would be more economic to truck it to perth.
Which gasket, rocker cover or head gasket? ie, oil is getting into the coolant? You can actually strip the engine down to the head gasket with the engine in place. A lot of work, I'd say 2-3 weekends if you are doing it by yourself and take your time. Just make sure you use Nissan gaskets, etc... no point risking it after all that effort to fix it. I think cheaper to repair it rather than buy a 350z.
I used to live in hedland for 2+ yrs, south hedland actually working for bhp in the HBI plant r u working for bhp iron ore? no place up there will know what a zed is what i would consider, if u had the money to burn (u were contemplating getting a 350z), is get tom (pzp) to get an engine and rebuild it from the bottom up with quality parts, and when he's finished, truck ur zed down to perth and do a swap out, then sell ur old engine as a rebuild for someone else at the same time u get ur radiator cored and everything else, so its like ur starting from ground zero under the bonnet with everything new and reliable then learn how to do the basic maintenance stuff and just maintain it urself up there in hedland
Yeah, you're right, aazn. Better to spend $30K-40K changeover! Probus: If you are serious, the 2006 and beyond are the only 350s to consider. The late models are putting out even more than a stock Z32TT. They have improved suspension and looks, too. They might be a couple of kgs heavier, sure, but that linear power output means you will win the stop light GPs over a stock TT. A simple a re-chip and a pod filter will yield even more horses, let alone a pair of snails or a blower ..... (sigh) the list goes on. There will always be naysayers who probably will never have the cash to buy a 350, so have to bag them. This is the wrong forum to discuss modern Zeds. All forums are the same. The S30 forum bags anything after the 260Z, the S31 forum bags anything before or after their cars and this forum is no exception. I say "Go for it". You won't regret having a tight, smooth, well sorted modern car under your butt.
300zx > 350Z A logical progression but I feel the 350 has lost the soul of the zed car. Too plasticy for me. Thats just my opinion. Certainly for MUCH less than the changeover amount, you could rebuild your entire drivetrain, replace all the usual weak links, buy a half cut/ 2nd zed for spares and even get a respray. Thats how I'd do it if I was in your position:zlove::zlove:
