Check these out I reckon a group buy should be organised for these packages.

or this one for the real rev heads note the 110 octane fuel on the graph though.

I will organise it all if the other buyers will pay for my kit. I am happy with the "little" one.

After plugging the exchange rate of 70cents into the trusty TI83Plus it comes out to $3135AUD for the first kit. Plus shipping and shit. Still sounds pretty good.

The Z1 GT28R kit is GREAT value for money.

If I didnt already have my turbos and half the bits I would just buy that one instead.

Yeah the GT28R kit looks like a great deal

and unless I'm wrong is a better choice for an internally stock car than the GT28RS?

Does the engine need to come out to install the GT28R kit?

apparently people have fitted turbos without removing the einge...

it would take sooooo much time to do it this way... i would definately remove the engine before installing new turbos.

My GT28R turbos should be delivered today! yay!

The RS's are bigger/more hp potential but only by about 50-100hp so i hear... i decided to got for the 28r instead.

Engine pull doesn't take long at all... i think i would be able to do it now in less than 3 - 4 hours.

If you get hit with duty and tax on a turbo group buy, it would make it poi

ntless in doing so. It would be hard to avoid tax and duty on a group buy like that. You would be better off buying them locally and getting them fitted up somewhere, the cost would be the same or near enough the same.

    That is a great deal

I don't see the point in going for the GT28RS GB when it's estimated to cost over $5kAuD when you can get a complete GT28R kit for $2.1kUS plus shipping

It looks like Coz does the same kit for the same price - he is good at not getting duties etc

    and this requires Injectors upgrade

right? ;) Graham is currently sourcing some injector part numbers and is going to get them flow tested I believe

I'm guessing a GB on them will have quite a few customers since there appears to be a list of contenders for the turbo GB concept lately :)

i'm just wondering, will this be dangerous in winter? will we need traction control?

You still have to buy dumps regardless of which kit you go with.

But I am making 20 sets so that is pretty much all of it.

Its quite funny actually, When this Z1 kit was released and I saw it I was thinking "great someone beat me to it" I actually have a a lot of the kit parts already done.

I have dumps almost ready to go (good for 28R's and 28RS) , The oil drain pipes, the oil feed pipes in braided pipe and the inlet pipe adaptor at the laser cutters.

I notice that Z1 didnt include the adaptor for the compressor outlet pipe. The alloy pipes don't point in the right direction with the GT28R's either.

I was cutting and tigging them to fix that.

IMHO the GT28R's are the best ungrade for a stock engine that will not be boosted above 20PSI.

That makes them the turbo of choice as an upgrade.

The GT28RS's are just going to be APE SHIT. They have a lot of power, honestly way more than most people could likely use.

My plans are to use stock bottom end, and worked heads.

I would like to have 300RWKW at 14 PSI. With head mods I think this is possible.

I have changed the pipe increase in the dumps today. Made a custom mandrel to make the change more progressive than the prototype dumps last week.

    Pics soon.

Here is the pic of last weeks prototypes. And below is the new Mandrel for the pipe diameter increase.

Should sort out most of the comments about the fast size change on the old ones.

So is a 3" set fully out of the question?

Re: So is a 3" set fully out of the question?

UmmM not sure. I would have to remake jigs etc. That is a lot of work.

What about if I increased the 2.5 inch pipe up to 3 inches before the outlet flange say just as the wastegate flow enters?

Its already turbulant from the wastegate entry so it would probably be a good spot to make it bigger.

I could do that easily. Then you could run 3 inch back to the cats etc.

Similar to stock by all reports. THZX's are very close to stock lag with the GT28R's.
