Yeah right on, a Porsche would be my next ride

if I sold the Zed and the ute.

I had the chance to put on a Maloo front, but there are too many around my area, plus mines a Storm originally, so V6. No point trying to make it look like what many know to be a V8, so went the Grange theme.

Where are your pics, like Franz says, this thread is useless without pics! :)

I can't believe you are even thinking about selling, Ali........

Mate, I paid 60 odd grand in the early 90's For a NA Zed, I sold it because like you I wanted "European Luxury vehicles with oooompphh" and I did buy Just about anything that took my Fancy (Had a Very Good Business back then) including a Ferrari and Porsche, I sold the Ferrari and Porsche and all the other Euro cars that I have ever purchased and never for one second did I ever regret the sale of those vehicles But I tells ya, I have 4 Zeds and I MIGHT sell 2 and thats only because I have to (My partner is very angry) But I will always have a Zed with me no matter how old they get (I mean, How many manufacturers do you know that have built the same shape for 11 years)
and Ali, if you like the Maloo, Keep it, BUT dont sell your Zed you will regret it......
BTW, I speak from experience Of course :zlove: ;)

Porsche have had very minor variations of the 911 for over 40 years

If you got your heart set on a Boxter S, and a very nice choice by the way, then sell the Zed to someone who will appreciate it in the way you used to. Hell if I wasn't in uni I'd buy it!
Maloo is nice for what it is, just don't expect it to attack the corners in the way the Zed did. And don't go sticking a Grange front end on it... almost as bad as the millions of VR/S's running around with VT Clubbie front spoilers:thumbsdown:
And if you find you miss the thrill of having two turbo's to excite things the guy's at Air Power System's may have just what the doctor ordered, just make sure you spec up the brakes as well.

WTF is the deal with utes !!

Why exactly is it that some Aussie guys feel that a fast ute is a performance car.

How many Lambo utes do you see around??

    I just DONT GET IT.

Do they give you 300 kg of ballast to put in the back to balance the car so it will go round corners?

Got to say I agree with you Graham.

I understand the ute as very useful utility vehicle. I don't get it as a performance car at all.

or maybe dogs refers to the bush pig women that are attracted to utes...

Well you could say the same for people who do up 4x4...

and never take them off road! That's what 4x4 was first designed for, but look at 4x4's now.

The same can be said about utes.

I think the worst is the Porsche 4x4...Who the hell is gonna take that off road, its a car designed to be a prick in.

"Very minor variations over the paste 40 years??"

I have a 1981 930 Turbo sitting here and I can tell you that there have been a Hell-of-a-lota variations over the past 30 yrs let alone 40.

 Perhaps I should clarify, I was referring to the shape

I understand that under the skin there has been quite a number of significant changes, air cooled to water cooled etc.

No one said their ute was a performance car at all,

but if you want one that handles a bit better than a standard model and has more features you have to call it something else, hence the Maloo tag. Utes are extremely handy. They definately come in much handier than the Zed for everyday stuff and AK is right, the V8 ones sound awesome! But performance in handling isn't something they can do real well, well not once you've experienced a modified Zed.

As for calling women who like utes bush pigs, like I said you will never know, ever. And that goes for probably most things in life. You are out to stir up school boy shit and this forum doesn't need your piss weak attitude. I sure as hell won't lose sleep over it. Get out or clean it up.

I wouldn't take it personally Brad...

there's a lot of narrow minded people around. It's a open forum, everyone is free to say what they think (with exceptions). Glad to hear you won't be loosing sleep :)

I'm not concerned, but my G/F might have an issue with it.

As well as the many chicks who drive utes as well.

Many of the finer ladies love the ute :)

How to win friends and influence people......

    Zanjara Free Candy!

    Utes are cool!

dont knock them till you have driven one...

DUB that is bloody nice i like the front looks great! good job well done :) plus its not over done either like some of the utes i see around here...

the Maloo ute is great also once again dont knock it till you have driven it it might not handle like the zed does but does have alot of pick up and go and has a very nice note to them..

has anyone driven a F6 ute yet? man they are bloody insane! manual one you hit the limiter with ease in every gear... but yeah thats another story hehehe :D

the ford and holden use are for show but if you get like a trition its more of a work ute then anything my dad owns one and can carry more then what it is sopose to carry and does it with no problems at all. But at the end of the day if i needed a ute i know what i would go for a big dirty V8! or maybe the F6 ute but then again if i wanted an F6 the sedan will do very nice :)

    red32 You talkin' to me?

    Brad, That looks fantastic

There's something about the good old Aussie ute that appeals to me. I appreciate that there are differences of opinion with regards function in a motor vehicle, but then, how many of us use our Zeds (legally) in the way they were intended to be used?
aK, enjoy your Maloo, and to hell with what anyone else thinks!

Mate there was one person who saw the humour in the bush pig comment

that is how it was intended to fly...

You can ute it up all you like, im just saying I certainly won't be one of the guys parked next to you in another pimped out ute.

Im not trying to start up a fight, just being a little smartass, besides if i was in to start a fight i reckon most people would be happy to beat the shit out of me and very few others would step in to defend me, lol

    peace out!
