ok, filled her up on saturday morning, ive got just under half a tank now with 210kms done. is it me or is my baby very thirsty? its boosted to 14pound with power chip and sports ext. but ive been just putting around town really (with the occasional burst) does this sound right people?
YER my zed is drinking WAYYYYYY too much as well....one trip to city and back can cost me about 1/4 of a tank and im really not liking that hopefully at the tech day you guru's can tell me a little more about it :LOL:
Bout the same, maybe worse Car's at the mechanics at the moment...shows to be running super-rich...gonna get diagnostics tomorrow morning. But 210k for 1/2 tank....well...I get 270 out of a whole tank ...and what else? Mine is a N/A I read in tech section people should be getting 400ish a tank of city driving?
least im not the only one been running it on optimax, now ive heard alot of other zedders seem to be usin bp ultimate, maybe ill switch?
Come to the tech day........>> And we can look at it then. Lots of reasons why car can get poor mileage, although yours doesn't sound that bad.
Not sure... I go to caltex or shell coz i'm pov and have to use the coupons.... but they say poor mileage might be due to some sensors not working properly...its in the tech section under its own topic
from what ive been reading it seems pretty common, maybe i was blessed by my old xr6 ute,(bout 400 to 450) oh well. cheers 4 the help guys !
Around town my NA returns approx 12lt/100 with o/d off most of the time below 80kmh. After the Hunter Valley cruize got home with 400km on the clock and just under half a tank - approx 8.7 - 8.9 lt/100km.
Datascan/Conzult can help........>> To diagnose the possible cause, but they can't solve it. Leaking fuel lines, poorly sealing petrol caps and dead O2 sensors are just the start of what can cause poor fuel economy. I wonder how many people believe they are getting poor fuel ecconomy because the 4cyl eccono box they used to drive got such good ecconomy, that when they jump into a heavy car, being pushed by a three liter engine, then crank up the aircon over summer, and go driving around with the odd "spirited" take-off from the lights the ecconomy is poor in comparison, but totally normal. In wimmywoo's case, a boosted TT being driven around the city should expect to get the sort of figures he is (roughly 420ks to the tank), especially in summer with the AC on.
Well in my limited time I have seen 550-600km on highway with a/c on , on the way back to S.A from VIC. Also am getting very close to finishing my first tank around town and have about 400km on the trip meter .Mind you a lot of that has been Under boost
yeah? if i see 300 from my tank then either a) i turned the car off on the downhills or b) someones been siphoning 'in' petrol But then again the fact my engine blew up a short while ago could possibly be an indication that something was wrong.
I usually get upwards of 450km per tank but that is with stuffed o2's and a leaking filler neck. I just imagine what I'd get with these fixed and a proper tune.
how about 20L/100km in an NA thats about 300km per tank (62 liter tank???) If the O2 sensors arnt working what will data scan look like, i've never understood the O2 dial on the screen.
I agree 100% with Peter, it's all in the way you drive/use your car. Not to over-simplify matters too much, essentially, the ONLY way you can get more power out of an engine, is to put more fuel in. Nothing creates motive power, other than the explosive charge of the ignited fuel. The only reason a TT gives you a kick in the arse when to tramp on it, is that the turbos assist you to get a much larger air/fuel mixture into the combustion chamber, more quickly. This in turn means that you are now using a lot more fuel (but you're also enjoying a lot more power). There is no magic cure for fuel consumption, other than making sure that ALL systems are functioning correctly, and having your right foot amputated.
