sorry chad a correction. tuck the sheet into the doors, just open them tuck it in each side close the door much easier than the windows. dont no why i said windows would be to much hassle that way.

    I got thIS ONE

    http://www.autotecnica.com.au/covers_carcovers.html

The Storm cover. Cost $180 though, but it is fully waterproof and has a cotton lined inner.

My last one lasted 3 years outside in full sun.

A 2 seater fits perfectly in the large SIZE ONE.

Graham does it have any provision for hail protection built into it at all?

It is fairly thick, So some protection. But there is a better one further down that page that is rated for hail.

I also have the Autotecnica Storm Guard in Medium, and it fits my 2+2 like a glove :) It's quite thick and padded, and best yet, you can buy it at most local auto shops (Supercheap, Auto1, AutoPro, etc...) It also has quite a soft inner...

I had a Autotecnica Stormguard for my 260z (2+2) when I had no choice but to park it outside... it was great when I first got it.. nice soft lining and I would expect it to protect against a modarete hail stone attack..... extreme, like start of last year.. hmmm not sure about that one...

Make sure you get min. of two ppl to put the cover on... Doing it as a one person job myself I ended up being a bit lazy and let it drag along the ground for a moment or two when putting it on.. the cover ended up with micro holes which letted moisture inside when wet... Once the inside of the cover traps moisture and you leave it on during a warm sunny day, it ended up fading my acrylic paint work.

After that episode, as soon as I traded up for a z32 I immediately tossed out the junk from parents garage and claimed my piece of territory :D

I had a silver grey waterproof cover from ALDI. Perfect fit length and width but when the wind blew, the part over to roof lifted a bit, disguising that it was covering a low sports car.
It was fleece lined so it kept the car shiny as it moved around slightly on a windy day. There were some weather proof vents front and back so it didn't catch too much wind and it didn't blow off. It had a zipper so I could access the driver side door without removing it.
It kept the car cool on a hot day. It had a zip up storage bag, but I could never seem to fold it down enough to fit back in the bag.
The cover was made out of a vinyl and on closer inspection I realised it wasn't bonded to fabric. The vinyl had a pattern in it to look like it was bonded to a fabric base.
It lasted more than 2 years with daily use, but it started to rip on the side that copped the Sun set (west), I gaffed taped it to keep it going but once the uv damage started it deteriorated very quickly.

Cost $29 had the features and weather protection I wanted, but the vinyl material didn't survive QLD uv.

OK so the one above didn't last more than 2 years. 12 months ago I had to cover two dead cars in the front yard because Christmas time means visitors. I bought two grey vinyl (fleece lined) covers from Aldi, slightly different material to the silver grey one mentioned above. Both of these have done their job in covering the two cars. Out of sight and out of mind. 12 months later they haven't been touched.

I haven't noticed any real weathering, but possums have clawed a couple of small rips. They seem to be waterproof except for the possum rips.

Bought another relatively cheap cover from ALDI, it is made of a tougher material but may not be waterproof. Might be water resistant but not waterproof.

Keeps the Sun off my Zed in Summer.
